ok so me and my friend are having an argument about the way you solve this chain… he thinks that he would win in this chain…
player 1: plays heavy storm
player 2: activates dust tornado
player 1: activates seven tools of the bandit
player 1: activates mystical space typhoon
know the problem is is that by destroying my 7 tools of the bandit he stooped its effect which means he would then destroy my heavy storm and win the chain, but i think that u have to negate the effect to be able to stop the heavy storm from destroying his things…
who is right?
if more info is required plz say so ill edit this…
but what about the negating stops effect?

this is confusing. what was the point of activating dust tornado? all spells and traps are being destroyed anyways. dust tornado does not negate so heavy storm still destroys everything anyways. negating is when a card makes another cards effect not happen. dust tornado and mystical space do no do this. so you play heavy. then your friend activates dust tornado which does notheing. then you chain by negating dust tornado which is doing nothing then your friend activates mst which also does nothing becuase A: it dosent egate and B: it has spell speed of 2 and seven tools is spell speed 3 which means mst cannot stop seven tools. youe heavy storm still works destroying all spells and traps. i hope this helps

your friends right when he activates mystical space typhoon then he did destroy your tools of the bandit allowing him to destroy your heavy storm

You’re right. You have to negate the effect of heavy storm to stop it and plus you can’t chain mystical space typhoon to seven tools of bandit because seven tools of bandit is a counter trap and mystical space typhoon is a quick-play.

dust tornado destroys but doesnt NEGATE heavy storm
magic jammer destroys AND NEGATES heavy storm
