Tornado Questions
Before a tornado strikes, the clouds turn a green color. The other month, there was a really bad storm at my house and it started to hail. I looked at the clouds and they were a sick green color. A few minutes later, a tornado hit.
So, why does the sky turn green before a tornado?

J-Dawn is right. The greenish tinge to the clouds is a result of the numerous hailstones in the air. The green part of the light spectrum is scattered more by the hailstones. It does not mean a tornado is near, but many times a tornadic storm will have hail associated with it.

It has to do with the hail. The hail scatters light in a certain way, causing the clouds to look green.
