Why does everyone succomon to fear and sell thier stocks when the media yells recession?
People panic and sell their stocks at low prices, because they think they are about to lose money, when that is exactly what causes companies to go under. On wall street, stocks fell DUE TO PEOPLE PANICING AND SELLING THEIR STOCKS because the media smears in the world face when a few companies go bankrupt. I mean people are selling their stocks (and not buying like they should be) in companies that aren’t doing bad, causing their stock prices to fall. Remember America, when you buy stocks at low prices, the company gains money, does better and people prosper. All the media hype on fannie mae and freddie mack, Lehman, and now the AIG scare, has caused ALOT of other companies to lose in the stock market because people are thinking OH MY GOD< and selling even when they don’t own stock in those companies. Doesn’t everyone understand that "spending money on companies, buying stock, and buying their products is what makes those companies, and america’s dollar value prosper. We had a natural disaster… Hurricane Ike, which yes, hurt oil prices due to the texas storm, however, now other countries are seeing everyone in American media yell… OH NO, recession,,,,, just because a couple of companies need help, thus selling thier stocks causing even more turmoil on wall street. America is prosperious because of the ability of businesses to prosper (small an large) however, when there is a "panic alert in the media, we get hurt even worse because people stop investing. Everyone needs loans to buy houses, supplies to build houses, and fix things in our current homes, food to eat, cars to get around, and what makes America so prosperious is the public (people) buying things to do this. COmpanies are going under because people are in fear and not spending like they could. Gas prices hurt us, yes, but think of it this way…… It’s only 2.00 more than 4 years, ago, if that, yet we will spend thousands of dollars on video games for our kids, eat a nice resturants, and buy non needed items-over needed ones, then complain about gas prices, Yet Americans can see that those three companies that failed is not what made America prosper… it’s all the businesses, So why punish those companies and hurt our ecomony more buy selling their stocks when we should be taking advantage and buying more stocks now, while cheaper…. that alone would help our economy.
I’m just saying, think about it……… we panic….we sell….we all lose in the long run……….(i understand selling companies that are folding, but let’s not make more fold by doing unnecessary things.) With all the media hype, You can bet, other countries are going to pull their shares out of our stocks, which will cause us to fail more, while we here are doing the same…. All because the media yells…. recession or some journalists writes a front page article sayong "worst recesion since 1930… Well hell yeah, thank you, now it will be worse.
People, wake up, we can fix this problem, buy low…sell high!
Not the other way around.
What are your thoughts on this….."Crisis" per the newspaper.
And what can we do about it BESIDES pass the buck?
If stocks are low now….. BUY! They will go back up ya know, and I bet right after the election too!
But instead of people leaving them be, and waiting for them to go back up… they panic, and sell because they think that company can’t regain when it can! Like I said..panic! It’s not impossible…!

My thoughts are…. you may have just got me interested in this stock marketing! lol
I love buying low selling high… it’s something I used to do in an online game before the ability of doing that became impossible.

When the media yells recession – the SKIT has already hit the fan. The big dogs have already got their money and out of the picture.

Its logical.
why else wouldnt you sell your stock if its now worth a real low amount, and there is news that the market is down.
now its either that or a nother logical path would be to take hold of your stock and risk it knowningly knowing things could get better.

The Media do not yell recession. Anyone who keeps even a vague eye on the stock prices can see they have been slipping for a while now and the media are just reporting that

By the time the media have been told, the fat cats have flown with their millions. It’s like God to them. They are normally the religious ones who attend their place of worship regularly to thank their God for keeping them rich.
