why are there so many bad things happening around the world?

there have been so many hurricanes, tornadoes, etc lately with all these people being left homeless, no food, unable to rebuild and deaths like in burma/china. this makes me wonder is the world coming to the end. i’m watching Cnn showing two tornados that hit in logan city, ok. will be ready not just spiritually but do you have a safe place, food, money saved in the house, tools (radio/flashlight, generator, tv that is battery operated) and medical supplies? i don’t believe that 50 percent much less 30 can say they are prepared. now, when i watch movies like the "day after" or those volcano/hurricane movies i see that this is very possible.

My brother is really good about his 72 hour kit and his emergency stuff.
Generally we would have enough water, food and diapers to make it through close to a week because I keep stocked up on canned goods, cereals, etc. HOWEVER, we don’t have one of those radiao/flashlights that you crank and I’d love one of those – they are supposed to be really good.
PS, I agree with the first answer – this really isn’t anything different than normal over history.

These things have happened throughout the history of our planet and on a much grander scale than what we are experiencing today….they will continue to happen it’s what this planet does..

Things like this have been happening for centuries.. We just have recently, in the scope of time anyway, had access to what is happening in other parts of the world and satellite to be able to view it.. makes it seem worse now than then doesn’t it?

Now come on! You really know the answer to this one! If there were no disasters and mayhem, what would the news channels find to talk about? How could they survive?
True bad things happen, but the amount of coverage given is as much due to the fact that news channels have to justify their existence, as it is the importance of the news item reported!
News channels like mayhem and disaster- it’s what they’re there for!

I am ahead of you there, I have read a few times a book on survival. Ray Myers is great for getting ideas of how to get food from the wild. I am a bit like MacGyver in fact.

Global Warming. Please sign Non Proliferation treaty on Oil Based cars. Car Bombs one of the bad things happening will cease in Gas Powered cars owned by Private citizens.
Not all due to Global Warming but to stop it would help the situation fro becoming worse save more lives.
Global Warming plus any potential Global War could kill millions.

why are people so ignorant? yesterday i walked out of my apartment in boston mass, and i could smell and see smoke/haze from a fire in frigin canada! thats just crazy. it was started by lightning. Someone who says 2012 is possible has NOTHING to gain. people who say it’s impossible are staying on the safe side. it’s sad that humans are at war with eachother when we could be putting our heads together as a WORLD, and start coming up with solutions. our universe will eventually collide with another, that is a fact.. why aren’t we all more concerned for us as a species?? no, people would rather kill eachother like animals
