Was very dangerous & you feared for your safety?
Rare Tornado warning in NY till 1AM
Nope. I heard Tornado warning according to Michael Kay then i heard it on the weather report. So fat all is ok. Thanks for the concern.
Far i meant. Sorry for the error.
Either someone is not knowing what they are talking about(Which Kay usually doesn’t at times) or it’s been downgraded now b/c i just checked again 5 mins ago & now it says Tornado watch. Will these people please get it right? Dumb weather people. :/

Well I’ve been to 2 games at Tropicana Field, and of course, it’s indoors, so i have not
& I’ve been to maybe 3 or 4 games at Fenway (from massachusetts), (the games were against the rays), & i think 1 of them was a rain delay, but the delay was for maybe like a half hour, (its hard to remember)
So, I’ve been pretty lucky with the weather
*Stay safe Scooter!

Thankfully that’s never happened to me. As a Yankee fan most of the time the weather here is pretty good for baseball. It rains from time to time, but very unusual for a Tornado warning here!

Tornado warning in NYC is strange .. well my brother was at Game 3 of the 1989 W.S.
that was postponed (and series suspended) as a result of the Loma Prieta earthquake!
A bummer ‘cuz otherwise he would have been on Nightline with Ted Koppel afterwards, telling him about baseball in France: at 16 = he was freelancing for a bb mag in Paris, still has pics he took while on the field like Al Michaels interviewing Rickey Henderson and Kelly Downs with a kid in his arms (as I remember the latter made the cover of SI)

I haven’t, wow..interesting. Hope all goes well.
A different sport-but I have had the feeling at Packer games that I was going to have frost bite a few times.

Wow.. a 4 hour tormado warning?
That’s insane. I live in tornado alley, and we’ve never had it that long. Are you sure it’s not a watch?
To answer, I was at a Twins game where the weather could have gotten bad, but it never did.
Yeah.. just so you know for future references, tornado warnings mean that they’ve seen a tornado, funnel cloud, cloud rotation, etc. Watch means with the weather, it could just form, but they haven’t seen anything to put you in immediate danger.
I’ve seen one last an hour and a half this year, but they kept extending the ending time for it. It was where my aunt and uncle are so I was keeping my eye on it. Anything projected to last for a few hours is going to be a watch 9 out of 10 times.

Yes i have once when the Detroit Tigers where still playing at Tiger Stadium at the time about 23 years ago and i heard the tornado siren from inside the stadium and i got scared because of hearing the siren while the baseball game was being played

Wow, hope it holds up at Yankee Stadium. Texas is prone to getting hit by tornadoes but luckily I’ve never encounter one whenever I’ve attended Rangers games.

I’ve never feared for my safety at a ballgame yet……..it would have to be pretty bad.
However, I did go to two games where the weather was really bad. I went to see the Giants play the Brewers at Miller Park and they closed the roof. A lot of us were confused why but when we walked out, it was thunderstorming like crazy. We couldn’t tell from inside the place but we heard it was pretty bad.
Another game was earlier this year in DC. We went to see the Nats and White Sox play and although this isn’t that bad, it was 95 degrees and sunny. I hate heat so the game wasn’t enjoyable, though the Sox won, making it a bit better. But generally, I hate summer weather so mid-90 heat with heat indexes cracking 100 was pure torture for me.

I once went to Opening Day and the game was called after 4 1/2 innings because it snowed. In the top of the 5th it was actually snowing so hard you couldn’t see the scoreboard.
That was in Shea Stadium in 1971.

Never at TF, but I have gone down to plenty of games at the Metrodome in bad weather. After all, Minnesota weather is so unpredictable.
I remember once going to a game and trying to beat a storm home! We were driving and kept looking at these huge DARK clouds following after us. Scary. This year, I went to a Twins game in the afternoon…It was super sunny, but SO humid and hot. You could feel a storm was coming. We made it home and then about 2 hours later there were MULTIPLE tornados throughout the state.
I also remember a couple of years back going to the home opener in a snow storm! It was freezing and all this snow wouldn’t stop falling!

Wow i hope it all ended ok at the the stadium!
Iv always been to games where the weather was nice, but my sister and my dad have gone to a Cardinals game where it stormed for an hour, and it was basically a lightning show.

There was a tornado warning when A-Rod stepped up to bat.
Now we’re on tornado watch until at least tomorrow.

not that i have feared for my life but tonight at the indians game it was very creepy, before the first rain delay the clouds got very dark very fast and the temperature went from the 90′s to the 60s in a matter of minutes
