Tornado Safety in a downstairs apartment?

Tornado Safety
i live in an apartment, w/o basments. its a complex, not an apartment building, i know you are supposed to go to an interior room or bathtub, well this is where my problem starts.
i live under an apartment upstairs thats modeled exactly like mine, which means the bath tub is directly above mine in the same place, is it likely that the upstairs bathtub will fall down on us? & if it does would be survive it?

That's a hard one cause every tornado will cause very different damage….but really good question.
A friend who lives in Oklahoma dragged her mattress into the bath tub. She and her lil sister crawled under it and held on to it for dear life.
What was left of the upstairs bathroom was in the yard and didnt land on them! The mattress saved their lives!
Good wishes to you!

I would not be concerned about the placement of the upstairs tub as the winds from the storm will likely land the up stairs in the neighbors yard but you do have the concern of construction materials falling in on you as well as debris that is being blown into your house from other structures that have been destroyed by the wind.
In a large tornado the entire structure can be swept off the foundation
I would suggest that you locate a genuine storm shelter in your area When a storm is approaching you can simply go to the shelter.
