I think a ditch or underground is the safest place to be.

A basement would be the best place to be if you want safety or get in a closet if you don't have a basement. If you're out there storm chasing like me, make sure you watch the skies very carefully because if you're filming and just focusing on one tornado, another one could sneak up to you.

basement, or interior room. if outside a ditch, but you have to fight the urge to run, which does come very strongly. I know from experience.
If in a Mobile Home GET OUT. I once took shelter in a large tool shed with a concrete foundation becuase the mobile home thing was so dangerous. That hail pounded and wind blew the roof was shaking like a jackhammer, scariest moment ever in my life.
sometimes you just have to choose the lesser of two evils.
