Hi.
I’m looking for info regarding the tornado that hit Springfield Massachusetts on Wednesday.
My mother grew up there and she wants to know if her old house was affected. She doesn’t live there anymore but..you know…she still wants to know.

Her address is near Entry Dingle Park, which is not to far from the Forest Park/Porter Lake area.

What I’m looking for is if someone would be generous enough to go to the address and give me a report and perhaps a couple pictures.

If you could give me your email or contact info I will contact you with more info.

Click on my avatar and use the email link there to get in touch with me.

Also, if YA isn’t a good place to find this info, what would be a better one?

Thank you

PS
Sorry for anyone who did loose their house.
@ Gemini. Cool! I emailed you the info via your YA avatar’s email link. Emails subject line would be something like "Yahoo! Answers: You have received a message from another user!" in your regular Inbox. If its not there check your SPAM folder. Again…1000 thanks.

From an early age I have been a devoted storm chaser. Yes, if there’s threatening weather happening and I can get to it you can bet some pictures will taken of this so-called atmospheric event. Makes no difference, lightning, thunder, tornadoes, hail storms etc. I’m always outside with camera in hand to catch the action.

In the year 2008 while visiting Adrian Michigan a severe thunderstorm struck from out of nowhere thus, propping me to instantly go to the car for a digital camera. I took 20 or more pictures of this weird looking stormy sky quite unaware that I had accidentally caught something of a supernatural nature. Something, that would surprise the most skeptic critic.

It’s obvious that these letters or numbers? Were not met for only my interpretation. Therefore, I chose to share them with the entire world tonight.

Too answer this question please review this photo on my "Yahoo pulse homepage) – (Adrian Michigan 2008 storm, letters in the sky) and tell me truthfully what you think it could possibly all mean. Now as God is my witness be honest when viewing the image. Thus, remember that any editing in a digital format (fraudulent computer enhancements) leaves undesirable signature distortions behind it. Therefore, it is next to impossible to modify any digital image without causing noticeable distortions in that same image.

Hey, Yahoo storm chasers and meteorologists. The tornado is my favorite meteorological force (for lack of a better description). I’ve lived in Kansas all my life and have never seen one! I feel cheated! What is it like to see a tornado? I would think it would be as exhilarating as it is terrifying.

My boyfriend of a year and some change (33 years old… live together)–

Flipped out over a lost remote!!! He turned all of the dresser drawers over and threw them on the floor, and tore the closet up….

I left him alone for a night and slept in the guest room. Then I went in this morning and started to clean up and talk to him, but he ended up telling me, "Your here acting like you don’t know what’s going on. I want my remote you were the last one to have it! B****, we have nothing to say to each other until you find it."

Should I go in and continue to clean it up until I find it, or should I continue to leave him alone— forever?
ADULTS answer only please.

I know that this is not much info, so you can’t tell me what I should do forever…
but what would you do in this particular episode?

Never thought I’d ask yahoo answers a relationship question, but after reading umptines of them over the past few months, I just couldn’t help myself when the opportunity arose! lol,.

Have had a chronic problem with Yahoo for sev months now:
I cannot send (Cc or Forward) my own mssg back to myself! they keep
telling me there is NO SUCH ADDRESS and I’ve had it (the same one)
for over 11 years now!!!!!! Whenever I try to get hold of someone there,
they just send you an automated template mssg that usually has NOTHING to do with the problem.
I give Yahoo an F – AND recommend you sell your shares if you own any YAHOOOOOO

There was a time when a tornado had to be sighted for there to be a "warning" now they put out warnings for whole counties because they see "doppler rotation" in the sky. Yesterday the NWS was putting out media quotes that predicted "a historical amount of tornadoes were likely for that day" – 6-5-08 It seems that this Federal organization is guilty of sensational reporting and spin at the cost of our tax dollars. I want your honest opinion – short answers fine and Yahoo please don’t censor this out like you do so many of my questions.

You would be willing to do just for the fun of it.

For me it would have to be storm chasing. I’ve seen all the videos I could find, and there’s this video on Yahoo today of a guy driving into a tornado! Looks exciting.

Yesterday I was driving in the country–one lane each way, no passing–and I was doing the limit (55), and I looked in my rearview mirror and I couldn’t see anything but the front of a Ford F-150. I swear, this guy was *one* car length behind me. I prayed a deer didn’t choose that moment to dart out on the road (it happens, here). I took the very first opportunity to get off the road (some poor schmuck’s driveway), and Mr. Ford blew past me like a tornado. Being an educated person, I thought to myself, "What the f-ing f-?"

As unnerving as this was, it was not an unusual occurance; it happens on that particular road all the time. I’m always doing the limit, or close to it; there is nothing provocative about my car, nor do I have any nasty bumper stickers. I, myself, appear normal, and do not shoot the bird out the window or do ANYTHING that would irritate other drivers.

So, Yahoo people, what do you think? What on earth is up with these drivers? What would you do?

This question is an extension of a question I asked a few days ago.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AodAu8eJPgHipDmP9lYg.E7sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080516110744AAKIUCT

I was on youtube, and watched a few videos of the cyclone i Myammar. One of the videos showed the route of the cyclone coming from the water. So is hurricanes and cyclone two different words for the same weather phenomena?

If yes, are different words used becuase they happened in different parts of the world &/or becuase the people that live in the region give the weather phenomena that specific name?

Again, this question is a extension of the one listed above, and the one above was asked cause me and my dad got in a argument or misunderstanding about if cyclones and tornadoes are the samething or different things.

my science teacher is crazy. she told us to pick 3 cities and find a whole lot of information on the weather and climate. so, i’m doing seattle, jacksonville, and chicago. after the fact, she decides we have to find past weather events that happened in those cities. i found a whole lot of information on seattle, such as flooding and blizzards and tornadoes.
my problem is that i can’t find any thing like that for jacksonville or chicago.
can someone please give me a link of a website that lists some major weather events for those two cities? i’ve tried everything i could think of! i used google, ask, and yahoo and i still haven’t gotten the info i needed.
please give me a link to a website, or you could even tell me some random, but true, weather events that happened there.
thnxx in advance!

Self-Funding Method to "Reverse" Global Warming
while providing Abundant Clean Energy:

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/jamesbdunn?p=224

NASA has already identified these systems as being able to provide many times the global needs for energy production by using space based solar concentrators. So why are we still using fossil fuels?

If we used fossil fuels JUST for producing products (asphalt, antifreeze, plastics, …) then we would have a supply that would last a thousand years and more. However, by using fossil fuels as fuel, we have less than a 100 year supply while producing enormous amounts of pollution.

Also, the mechanism by which solar concentrators work, is the same mechanism by which global weather can be controlled. (dissipating hurricanes, dissipating tornados, eliminating droughts, providing predictable rainfall, eliminating extreme temperatures, rebuilding glaciers and the artic ice pack, ….)

How do we influence politicians to actively create a system?

No one deserve any kind of natural disaster. People dont say that people in California deserve it and it happens all the time. So whats the revenge for people/states where catastrophes happen often. Someone once said it was God’s wrath on southern states when they get hurricanes in the south because of slavery. Now doesn’t that sound dumb too but to the people who think its God’s revenge on haiti for voodoo should believe the same thing. What’s the revenge for Tornadoes in the midwest? What was the revenge for for the tsunami in Thailand. Just because it’s black people it has to be sometype of God’s wrath?

Which team is worse? Because Tornadoes, Hurricanes, and Lightning storms can cause great damage and have powerful winds sometimes. . But Volcanoes, Earthquakes, and Tsunamis can cause alot of damage. I wanna know cause i’m so curious. Team air facts: Tornadoes: They can spin around and pick u up and throw u somewhere u dont know. Hurricanes: They can cause some flooding and damage. Lighting storms: They can sometimes start fires and it zaps the tallest thing it can find. Now team earth facts: Earthquakes: They can cause big tsunamis and fires and cause cracks in the ground. Volcanoes: They can cause earthquakes, tsunamis, and worse fires. Tsunamis: Holy crap dude, run when u see one. They cause massive flooding like the one in 2004. Please tell me which team would win!!! Team air (Tornado, Hurricane, Lighting storm) or Team earth (Earthquake, Volcano. Tsunami). NOTE: IF U TYPE A INAPPROPRIATE ANSWER AND U THINK IM GAY I’LL CONTACT YAHOO ANSWERS AND ASK TO BAN U. I HAVE BEEN CALLED MANY THINGS AND I WILL SEND U A MESSAGE BACK ON UR QUESTION SAYING A VERY MEAN COME BACK SO WATCH IT!!!

Would it be like a negotiating ransom or a hostage situation? What if it was even more uncompromising like a tornado or tsunami?

Its not like you can just call Homeland Security, the FBI, or even the fire department and say, "God determined to strike in the US." FEMA might not even clean up the mess.

I usually don’t respond to questions with questions, but I had some fun with it this time:

Fan fiction parodies, nuff said:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=…

Here’s another scene

Info: Clark Kent and the others are having a conversation about the newsmedia.

Kara(Supergirl): (Talking about news reports on tornados in the south) "You know every New York news crew that goes down there finds a guy with 2 teeth in his mouth saying…(switches to a southern accent) "Well we seen it comin’ sounded like a big ol’ fraight train I thought we was all goin’ die"

(Gus Gorman starts laughing)

what’d ya think?

I’m a Skywarn storm spotter in the Tampa bay area for Florida. As a storm spotter, I’m supposed to report severe weather to the National Weather Service to keep the public informed about severe weather. If our area is under a tornado warning, would it be illegal for me to use a bullhorn and say "This is a tornado warning, seek shelter immediately."? What sort of charges/penalties would I face?

In Hawaii, the department of emergency did the exact same thing when the entire state of Hawaii was under a Tsunami warning. http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Waianae2C-Hawaii-Hawaii/photo//100227/480/46345f5b7b9f48389f31285e6863bac0//s:/ap/20100227/ap_on_re_us/quake_tsunami_18#photoViewer=/100227/480/46345f5b7b9f48389f31285e6863bac0
