ever since i was little ive been afraid of storms.but now that i can stay home alone.what should i do if a tornado comes ,im home alone and im really scared of my basement but theres soupposed to be a tornado (the sky is pich black).HELP!!!
i need to know how one forms, the most likely signs that can let me know to worry or to tell me not to… what the sky will look like the sounds that can help….what to watch for! what site can tell me if there is a watch or warning…..i live in a trailer house so i know that it dangerous to be here when there is one…but i also worry for my family and two cats (they are like sisters to me) i am almost 16 so yes i will be starting high school here..we had one more tords the end of 7th grade…so maybe 2006-07 so it was not that long ago and i heard our town had saw 4 tornados or funnels that were sited…ever since that i have been very scared of storms…but i have had a bit of a problem with them when i was lil and watched twister….are there any shows that can help me out here to? like real live stuff that ant like the day after tommarow and creepy stuff like that? if i remember the right there was a show called tornado chasers or sumtin? would that help? i told myself not to watch creepy stuff like that from no on too….bad fake movies about weather!
June 9, 1953 a F4 tornado hit Worcester County.. since we’ve had a few minor tornadoes…one hitting a town away from where I grew up in 1989.
So if an F4 tornado hit here before WHAT makes people think it won’t happen again? Isn’t that a bit naive?
well sure it was rare… but it happened all the same. and I remember the day of the 1989 tornado..I was at school still and the sky was all green and dark.. it was scary stuff.
ever since i was 12 or 13, I have been terrified of tornadoes or any kind of severe thunderstorm. I am always checking the weather when i see the sky getting dark and i freak out so much, i keep thinking i’m having a heart attack… and it’s even worse because my parents are gone for almost 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. we have a small ( and in my opinion, an unsturdy) house in the suburbs and i have no plan for when a tornado does hit. Any ideas on where we could go for shelter?
This sounds ridiculous but I have been looking all over the internet for how people were warned about tornadoes in 1910. I am in a creative writing class and one of my characters is a boy who lived in Kansas in 1910. There’s a part where he says he saw tornadoes but i can’t really go on anymore about that because I don’t know how people were warned when they were coming. In the story he just says that they had to pay attention to the sky and the weather patterns and that the bell ringer for the church would start frantically ringing the church bells to signal for people to take cover and they had to hope that it wouldn’t come in the middle of the night. (he lived in a small town).
If I’m not able to find the info on how they were really warned, I’m just going to go with that, but I would really like to be adequate. If they were warned some other way in the early 1900’s then I really would like to know.

i had a dream last night that the world was ending it was great detail… in real live my daughter is turning 1 next weekend heres where the dream starts…
i live in southern california and the dream took place in southern california
my family came and all of that, at the end of the party my aunt and uncle wanted me to come help them with something so i rode in the car with them back to where they live, next thing i know i see tornadoes coming down and tearing stuff up, our car got hit by something and rolled over i got out and started running away i got picked up and thrown under an underpass and fell on top of a car i kept running away..
i found a car got in it and drove back home as fast as i could to get my family i looked up at the sky and there was tornadoes everywhere it freaked me out in my dream i turned on the tv and the news was saying that the world was ending and there was airplanes to take us away from thats when i woke up..
but what is that supposed to mean it kinda freaked me out, my daughters dbay party is in 1 week and my dream took place after the bday party….
i have been thinking of it all day it was kind of like the day after tomorrow how the scenario was i dont watch the news ever… i dont read newspapers ever and i havent seen that movie for a year or two…
if anyone could help me figure this out it would be appreciated it was scary
The motorized bicycle roared as I raced down the dirt trail. Around me, the wind howled and flung the trees back and forth. The sky was a strange color. I felt a pulling from behind me, and I turned around. The trailer had lost traction and was sliding through the grass. The back wheel got loose, and was throwing mud everywhere. It almost spun around, but I let go of the throttle and it regained its traction. I saw the old house in the distance, and once I was in the dirt clearing, I turned sharp. The trailer and the moped spun around, and Mike ran off the porch and threw himself into the trailer. I tore away from the house, having to pedal a bit to help the motor along. We bounced along on the trail, and hail started to fall. "Oh crud…" I muttered. I had it at full throttle. I saw the end of the trail where it came through a patch of trees onto the road, and went to it as fast as possible. We rocketed down the street, and the shelter at Bob Mac’s Body Shop came into view. I rolled up to the door, where there was a man in a yellow raincoat, trying to get everyone inside. I let Mike off, then I pushed the moped inside. There was at least a hundred people inside, and it was stuffy and humid, but safe. Suddenly, the hail outside just stopped. The whole room held its breath, waiting. Suddenly there was a sound like a train whistle, and the man in the raincoat shut the door and ran for the back of the room. The power went out, but there were kerosene lamps lit. Loud sounds were heard from outside. There was suddenly a crunching sound, followed by scraping. The scraping sound moved along the wall, and everyone’s eyes followed it. Suddenly it went up and was gone. The door trembled, and bits of concrete fell from the wall. There was a snap, then suddenly something boomed above us. We heard a cracking sound, then a beam fell from the ceiling, right over top of a person in a chair. It fell on top of a stout table, and it stopped just a few inches from the person’s head. Suddenly the wall burst in and a red minivan, crumpled almost beyond recognition, flew into the room and hit several people, who were then sucked out by the tornado. I felt myself being pulled towards the hole, so I grabbed a bit of rope that was tied to a pole next to me. I was lifted into the air, and the only thing keeping me in was my hand. Then it stopped. I fell to the ground. When I stood up, I was shocked. The building was ruined. People were missing. People were injured. People were… Dead. My stomach clenched. I felt faint. I felt my lunch come up and watched it go onto the ground. Then I stood up. Mike was next to me, white as a sheet and covered with dirt. The man opened what was left of the door and left us to go gather our dead. I grabbed my moped, and me and Mike walked out into the flooded street. Trees were strewn everywhere. Part of someone’s bedroom was crumpled up in the parking lot. Cars were flipped and broken, and the destruction was everywhere. Me and Mike walked into Broadway street and looked up and down it. The Braums sing was near the ruins of the Ice House, and the D from Dollar General was on top of a car overturned in the street. "Edgar, I think we’re in trouble. There’s our mailbox."
This is just the beginning… I’m not even sure if I can go anywhere with it…
At least twice a week for about a year now there have been tornadoes in my dreams. I live in wisconsin so we do occasionally get tornadoes but they don’t really scare me to the point of worrying about them. It’s never the same dream or the same looking tornado. In most of my tornado dreams my goal is either to get everyone inside and safe or to run. Occasionally the tornado is just there, my dream last night had to do with a neighborhood I once lived in and finding old coins down by the river, but out of no where 3 tornadoes dropped from the sky and I hid in a car, the tornadoes caused no damage and had just momentarily picked up the car and spun it and dropped it on its side, I climbed out and continued to look for the coins. They don’t ever scare me and I don’t remember being afraid that they would kill me, I don’t understand why they are in my dreams so much. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out what my dreams mean but i can’t figure this one out. Any ideas?
So back in 98 or so I was out with my cousin in my backyard we were looking out towards the mountains. He quickly looked at me and said "look I think that was a tornado!" I looked over to the top of the mountain and this really dark thin shape which really looked like a funnel shot back up into the clouds so fast I barely saw it. So I kept watching and about 5 seconds later this "funnel" shaped thing dropped down even faster and shot back up just as fast as it came down. The sky was very dark on the mountain and the "funnel" was pitch black as it shot down. There was no wind though we could have been about 10 miles from where it touched down.
I thought it could have been a micro burst or something as well since Arizona doesn’t get tornadoes.(We can’t say tornado or the insurance won’t cover anything) Yet I didn’t think micro bursts are visible and the "funnel" looked very much like a tornado. Just the thin, black object hitting the top of the mountain makes me think that is what it is. Before then I had never seen one so that is the closest to a tornado that I have ever seen in real life.
sorry if there is alot of mistakes its late and I’m tired. This has been on my mind alot recently and was hoping someone could tell me if this occurence was a tornado. We do get funnels at least twice each summer so that is another reason I don’t think it is that unusual for it to be a funnel.
ok first off i had a dream that i was in my room and my dad and me where looking at my computer and he said " we might get a tornado " and i was like " no way haha" and then he pointed to this red light and he laughed and then left and then i heard something at my window it sounded like something was trying to break in so i ran out of my room and into my parents where and they where on they’re bed watching tv and i just sat down there because i did not want to be alone and then on the tv and girl with wings flew on top of this tree and that is when i woke up ….and i was a little scared and it took me about a hour to get back to sleep then that is when the really strange dream happened
i was sitting down at this bench and there was this girl sitting in front of me and i said " i love your dress" then the sky got dark and it got windy
and one person said " there’s a tornado coming!" then i saw this girl on a motorbike and i said " we got to get out of her " so i jumped on and she drove away from the place….then somehow we where in a Desert and i saw this big tall tornado like this and we where driving right for it
then somehow i was alone in the Desert and i did not see the girl anywhere so i began walking forward looking for a house or someone to help me
and about a minute later i saw this house so i ran to it and went inside it
and there where people there and i asked " i need help…" and one woman give me a glass of water and i drunk it
then she said something i forgot about it made me sad
and i started to cry and i said " i just..want to get home" i said to this boy or girl
and the woman must of heard me and she offered to drive me back home and i agreed and after we got into the car about a moment later we where in this small town
that looked awful like the real town i live in
and i said " turn here my house is around here" and she did and then i was back at my house

Plus, Salvage is more potent if EVERY monster in the deck is water, not just the Cloudians.

I was in my bed sleeping after that painful heartburn I just had, and then the windows shattered,shaked, and literally moved!!!! I got up and sneeked outside the windows, but I didn’t open them, it was like a HURRICANE!!!! Then I saw this funnel in the sky and then hail was falling down, only a small amount. Since I am one of those people who take their video camera with them and sometimes film even though its not like a vacation or something, I had my camera with me and then I recorded the funnel first, then the hail on the ground, and then, came the worst, wicked nightmare!!!!! The tornado itself came coming down slowly from the funnel, I quickly called 911 and they said as usual "911 what’s your emergency?" Then I screamed and said "WHAT DO YOU THINK!!!!!????? DON’T YOU SEE IT!!!?????" then the man said "What is your emergency?" then I said "OK OK DON’T SEE IT, THERE IS A FREAKING TORNADO OUTSIDE, I’M IN SOUTH FLORIDA FT. MYERS AND THE STORM IS FREAKING BAD AND HAIL’S ON THE FREAKING GROUND AND MY WINDOWS ARE SHAKING AND……" he stopped me and said "Ma’am, is anybody hurt? Can you see outside if theres anybody, or even any animal?" I looked outside real carefully and shivered "YES, OH YES, I SEE SOME MOTHER AND HER CHILD RUNNING IN THE SIDEWALK, SHOULD I GO OUTSIDE AND HELP HER?" then he said "IS THERE ANY MAN IN YOUR HOUSE OR OUTSIDE?" then I quickly said " NO, NO, NO NO MALE" then he said in a calmed voice "Ok, I need you to do this for me okay? Get any pan you see in your house, cooking pan, any pan, now put it on your head and get a towel, two of them, preffered warm" then i said "OKAY OKAY, THEN WAIT, AM I GONNA GO OUTSIDE?" then he said "Yes, don’t be scared, now go to your front door, and open it fast and close the door quickly" I had my phone in my hand and said "IM GONNA KEEP THE PHONE IN MY HAND, OKAY?" then he said "Okay" I went out. Good he said to put a pan in my head, because hail actually fell and hit the pan, which could have been my head!!! I got the two towels and wrapped it around the woman and the kid. I brung them at my house and they where okay. Then the mother said "oh my god thank you so much!" the kid didnt say anything because she was scared. And remeber that I left my camera in the window and it was recording everything, even me saving both of them. I had to do something to protect my house and my pets and people. But i couldn’t, good my house was strong. "HELLO? I HEARD SOMETHING" said the man in the phone. I quickly got the phone and said "THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP, THE MOTHER AND KID ARE FINE, I DON"T SEE ANYONE OUTSIDE, THANK YOU SO MUCH" he said "Your welcome, we will be putting a tornado warning now" I sighed and told the woman and kid to join me for lunch because they havn’t eaten anything, they trusted me, such nice people.
I have nightmares about tornados.
Usually its where I can see them from a distance, and I’m trying to make sure other people are ok.
The most recent one I had was where I heard the wind blowing and the weather channel said the weather was perfectly fine, no severe weather. I was calling my friends and family who live in town. I was asking where they were, and kept telling each of them they might want to get in their basement or seek shelter. I tried to be cool about it, and not alarm them, but nobody believed me. The wind started picking up. I was trying to pull my 3 dogs into the basement with me. My first dog (puggle), Sam, got scared and ran away from me. I was trying to find him all over my house. My Dad was calling my phone over and over again, but I couldn’t pick it up because I was trying to find my dog. Suddenly the wind got so loud that it sounded like a train was coming. I couldn’t pick up my phone to help my dad, nor did I find my dog. I had to run down into my basement. As soon as I got down there my entire roof flew off. I was screaming and I could see a whirlwind of peices of my house flying above me.
Then I woke up. I was gasping for air and sweating.
I had one a month ago where I was driving in an unknown town. I was trying to find my way to a job interview. I was a little lost, and was traveling on some country roads. I noticed people started driving faster as if they were trying to get home. The sky started changing colors, like yellow and green and gray. I stopped at a gas station to get gas and a strange looking man invited me to his house. He told me not to worry, he had a wife and kids at home…but that he felt bad for me because he could tell I wasn’t from there and I had nowhere to go. I asked him why that mattered and he said it was because there was a really bad storm coming. I saw some tornadoes from a distance as he was talking to me. I thanked him and told him I was going to try to find my way back home to my family. I was lost, driving around and trying to dodge these tornados. I had to pull over and lay in a ditch, and these tornadoes kept flying over me. It was terrifying, but none of them hit me.
I dreamed of tornadoes that day. When the Space Shuttle was launched last Sunday I dreamed of a a fiery streak going across the sky that night. The television wasn’t on either so I wasn’t aware of what was happening at those times. I work the Graveyard shift so my hours of sleeping aren’t regular. But what do you think of these dreams?
Ok so I can’t forget about this dream at all, and it happened last night. It starts out in my kitchen, and my mother is kind of sad. I ask her what is wrong and she replies that she saw something last night and was showing it to Sally, our dog. This whole time she was packing up food and clothing because apparently a tornado is coming, which is odd because we live in a place with little to no tornado’s. I then find out she saw an alien last night and that is another reason she is making us leave the house, the aliens are coming to invade earth. (Let me remind you this dream was very vivid.) I go into her room to help pack and find a drawing of hers, it is a skeleton-like purple alien in a coffin flying through the sky, I ask her about it and she says she saw that last night. Then we get in the car and drive to a Chevron because the shelter is there, I text my boyfriend and he meets up with us there, and then it ends. However, I woke up very scared for some reason, and had a sense that I should not cough at all, and I needed to cough badly, but I keep it in. So, am I seeing something important or just something my mind made up.
The whole coughing incident, happened after I woke up. Also I am terrified of death, my self dying, dead people. On friday I saw ashes in a World War II video and barely talked for over an hour. So the skeleton in the coffin scared me, and it also alarmed me that it had an aura or purple around it since purple is my favorite color. I hope the extra details helped.

I watch the Al-Jazeera news about the number of homeless people that’s growing in numbers in the United States due to high rates of joblessness.The foreclosures of housing and realastates is sky rocketing at this period that forces the locals to leave their houses.To tell you the truth,i’m shocked to see and hear what had happened in United States today.The tent cities in every states is growing like a refugee camp which reminds me of the Katrina hurricane victims but this time it’s a very different kind of Katrina that is hitting the whole nation.It also reminds me of the homeless people that lives in camps such as in Iraq.I guess it’s pretty hard to live in America nowdays cuz if you lose your job,you lose your house.
I don’t know what kind of help my country can give to those poor people.Perhaps free tents and a little bit of food supplies might ease the pain for these poor homeless people since we saw very little that the American government can do to help them.I mean,think of the kids.they need to go to school.and how about the sick,the pregnant and the old people?Will the government help them if needed?I hope the cops won’t cut of their tents and kick them out to easy.They are human beings like us to.

My friend is 14 years old and claims to see tornadoes in the sky. I completely believe her because she wouldn’t lie about this. She doesn’t see them everywhere just usually in the sky. A little info that might help is that she had a birthmark over her eye when she was a baby, and the doctors told her parent she might be blind they were wrong. she has been to several doctors and they have no answers! So if anyone see them or has any answers please comment!

ok i live in jacksonville fl and fay is supposed to be hitting us today and i keep watching the weather channel and i don’tt mind thunder,lighting,rain,poweroutagess but i keep see reports about tornadoes and the damage the storm has cause and they say they fay is gonna head off shore and it might strengthen and hit our area next. (lucky us.)i know that tornadoes come in many different forms like rain wraps,water spouts,etct ect. ive been amazingly terrified of tornadoes ever since i heard that they can kill people. as of right now the sky is already dark and its only 11 30 in the morning. . if there is a tornado in my area then what kind should it be depending on the storm? and would it hit my house since i live on the west side(i kind of live near flat land)?I’m sooooo terrified i dont want to die i dont want to lose my house im just starting out my high school year and i dont wanna lose my high school oppurtunities!! and if a tornado is heading my way how should i prepare????a and how do i calm my nerveesss????? im sooo terried! and what kind of tornado would it be? Ok. Well first of all, i need some help. I need someone to tell me what these dreams might mean. Some recurring dreams i have are
going to school when the sky is DARK and/or evening, and not being able to go home.
being in a situation where theres a tornado and i cant seek shelter.
And i ALWAYS basically every month for a year i have a nightmare where i am in a car driving on an endless road, in the middle of a wide field and there is a huge funnel cloud over head. The last one i had of that dream was worse, where the funnel cloud was replaced with a face and hands reaching down.
I do have history where i was OBSESSED with weather (tornadoes specifically) i have never encountered one, and my obsession has stopped more than a year ago, but i keep having dreams with them involved and all i feel is absolute fear, even though my interest a while back was simply interest, and i wasnt "scared" at all. i still am obsessed being whenever its cloudy or stormy/windy i think theres going to be a tornado and i live in the mountains!!! but any way the main question is WHAT DO THESE NIGHTMARES MEAN? Both of the dreams i described are ALWAYS happening atleast 90% of my dreams include tornadoes.
EXAMPLE OF A DREAM I HAD THIS MORNING, literally lasted 9 minutes.
then it changed to a scene where the parking lot was my "drive way" and i lived in a mansion, the sky still dark brown and misty. i was in a car driving to town, mist everywhere, like fog. I called my dad in the dream, as my mom drove on this wide road, with no trees besides like 3 dead ones. in the dream i asked my dad what was wrong with the sky he said there might be a tornado. i simply replied, then me and mom will meet u at work and we can watch the tornado. in the dream the tornado then appeared. I knew it was just a dream. i asked my mom "is this a dream" she replied, no. i decided to ignore the tornado on the side of the roade any way. we continued to drive to my dads work, the mountains larger than usual (this took place in my town) we could see our house from my dads work which isnt true in reality. We saw a tornado passing by.
at one of the mansions there was a dog. my mom told me to go play with the dog with my dog (i dont have a dog in real life either, and in the dream the dog was fake, like a toy) and so i went over to the dog and started playing with it. in the dream i knew the story behind that dog, it was born from a human and dog and had an extra chromosome (someone in the dream, maybe it was my inner self who told me that. i woke up after that.. it was 7:09 am and all of that happened in the matter of 9 minutes.
and in the backround the whole time was depressing, slow, melodic music. it reminded me of

One time on a cloudy day, I noticed up in the sky There was this brown dust. I also noticed some was near the ground. Then in the sky as the dust was clearing, I noticed a funnel cloud.

P.S. At first I didn’t have a remote for our T.V. when I saw it.
