I would really love some help! I’m looking for some information about CO?
My husband my brother and I are moving to Colorado Springs CO. I was wondering if you could help supply information on the following:
~Average kilowatt per hour:
~Apartment brochures for 2 bedroom 2 bathroom:
~Average temperatures per month:
~What natural disasters happen around that area:(like here in south texas we get hurricanes)
~The average race in colorado (white, african, spanish, etc)
~Popular attractions of colorado:
~Population of Colorado Springs:

Thanks!

AND: I DON’T need rude people or any attitudes okay…
It is doing research. Which is the smart thing to do before one moves to a state at which they have never been to so you either answer the question and help me out or don’t answer it and leave me alone thx

I don’t know too much about them, but hopefully I can provide enough info about him. He is pretty old and he was in the Navy. When he was in ther Navy he wrote papers about his findings and theories of how to stop tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters as they were occurring. He gave them to other people in the Navy and they tried out some of them and they actually worked(I think it was to stop a hurricane) and they just never did it again. He got mad at them and ended up leaving. He was a substitute teacher for one of my Science classes when I was in Eight grade(a little over a year ago) and his last name is Thompson(Not sure if that’s how it’s spelled). After he told us these things he was going to show us the papers, but the class ended. The next day we had our regular teacher again and he told us that it was all true and that it did happen. Don’t know if this helps, but he taught my class in Oregon. As I said he isn’t very famous so if anyone knows anymore that would be great.

i was watching TV and saw so many different updates about famous ppl and organizations donating millions and millions of dollars and clothes and food and im thinking "whoa! this 0 million dollars you have stashed away couldnt have been used earlier to help ppl in america?!"

We are in an economic crisis and have so many homeless ppl and the rates are growing each year! so much of that money could be used to build homeless shelters and centers that help ppl get back on their feet! We also have natural disasters all the time! A city close to mine was completely wiped out (the whole city) by a series of tornadoes and they were not helped as much as they could have been.

I know we should help others, im not saying i dont care. but does anyone else feel a little angry that so much money and funds are being used on other countries when its really needed at home?
some ppl are misunderstanding me.

im saying so many ppl have had money stashed away for so long, before the earthquake and havent done anything to help here in america. yes, i have seen dead bodies, smashed houses, many lives ruined. like i said, that tornado completely took out the whole city! (which is big!) but no one cared. kanye west didnt, george clooney didnt, even our own government denied help because apparently the damage has to reach a certain amount of money before they can pitch anything in. its disgusting.

but we can go across the world and take care of others. aside from the loss of lives, (im not saying whatsoever that losing a loved one is a good thing) this is a wonderful thing to happen to haiti, now they have the publicity, because all of a sudden, everyone actually cares and wants to help. people are going to get shelter they didnt have before the earthquake, people are going to have food they couldnt afford before the earthquake.

just saying…

Whoa!!!! calm down ppl. u are reading way too much into what i am saying.

i said (basically) isnt it rediculous that actors and singers and basketball players and all suddenly have millions to donate to them? if theyve just been stashin this money away for a rainy day, why hasnt it been used on america.

to me its a PR gimmick. "yeah! a natural disaster! now i can give money and look cool and people will love me!"

and to everyone who thinks they know my personal life. yes. working full time i have had to starve to keep a roof over my head. i have had to live in a car. no dead bodies, but i have seen bums living under bridges begging for someone to feed them.

im not saying that what happened in haiti isnt important. its a big deal! its horrible! but a natural disaster doesnt have magical powers that makes money appear! its been sitting, not being used when its needed here.

Natural disasters, god-like activities or a scientific phenomenon, either way it is still a life changing tragedy. Merriam Webster defines tragedy: A serious drama typically describing a conflict between the protagonist and a superior force. What is more tragic than a spontaneous natural disaster happening right beside you, well it definitely beats a death of a neighbour’s dog or a murder down the street. In this case – Man vs. Nature-we are dealing with a much greater force: the simple power of nature. The wrath caused by natural disasters does not only bring drama to one man, but it affects everything and anything in its path. Nothing, not even the intelligence of humankind can stop a tremendous force of natural disasters caused by hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods. The only things we can do is stop, and think of what comes to mind often when regarding natural disasters as they cause the pain of the loss of a loved one, devastation of your life through your only means of shelter, and the emotional pain that it takes to endure a tragedy such as this one. Tragedies such as these are very difficult to handle for many people.

Humans in general are VERY two faced. But there are good ones out there and luckily I am one of them. But I do not need to stand up and shout I am good.

I don’t need attention, I enjoy being friendly and making people happy. Even though at the same time I want to punch some people out.

We do not own Planet Earth, we did not create the Universe. Earth owns us. It’s natural disasters are more powerful than our disasters.

Earthquakes? Hurricanes? Tornadoes? Thunder Storms? Tsunamis? etc.

Yes humans are very destructive, but the Earth’s natural disasters are the disasters that kill us a lot and can’t be stopped.

Yes we cause pollution, yes we build homes, but somehow that wrecks the earth. So we go GREEN.

Well we need homes too, we can’t all ride horses anymore you know. Planet Earth was never ours, we didn’t have cars when the Ice Age occurred.

So now what? The polar ice caps are melting? Global warming?

PEOPLE! the only reason why this world is so hateful is because people put negative thoughts in their heads all the time.

The Universe controls your life, you want negative you will get negative.

You want positive? Put positive thoughts into your head and the Universe will bring positivity to you!

You need shelter, and the animals can’t stop you from building homes!

MIDDLE SCHOOL – SCIENCE – CHEMISTRY – FLUIDS

Quick little science question that I really need answered because my parent’s don’t get this kind of stuff.

I’m making a concept map, the center is FLUIDS and then I branched off to: Human Body, Natural Disasters, Items Around The House, Automobiles and Nature.

Then, we have to find at least six examples of each, and I am so stumped. So could anyone help me with some examples of them??

EXTRA INFO – What I Have Already:

Human Body: Saliva,Air-in lungs,Blood,Liquids in the stomach…

Natural Disasters: Volcano,Tsunami,Floods,Tornado,Hurricane…

Items Around the House: Vacuum,Hot air in drier…

Automobiles: Gasoline,Oil,Windshield washer fluid…

Nature: Bodies of water,Air all around,Liquids in plants + trees…

*Anything at all will be great! Thanks in advance.*

I usually never ask for homework help, but we were just searching on the internet anyways, so it isn’t cheating at all.

Sorry this is a little long..
Please anyone..? =/

Topic: Natural Disasters

Directions:

Read the following paragraph and write a composition as stated in about 300 words. Your composition will be graded according to clarity, accuracy and meaningfulness.

A natural disaster is the effect of a natural hazard (e.g. flood, drought, tornado, volcano eruption, earthquake, typhoon, tsunami, or landslide) that affects the environment, and brings financial, environmental and human losses. We can see many natural disasters occurring at home and abroad recently, huge damage have been made either to the environment or to our human lives. Those natural disasters urge us to reconsider our beliefs and behavior toward our mother nature when we seek for clothes, food, and sheltering etc.

Therefore, what is your attitude toward the natural disasters? What shall we do to prevent us from being simply destroyed? What kind of role did we play in the causes of those dreadful disasters? Your writing ought to contain three parts, your viewpoint, the supporting ideas, and the conclusion.

I NEED AN ESSAY,NOT OPINION OR SOMETHING LIKE INTRUDOCTION. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? THANKS!

i need some helpp pleaseeee!?

2.The opening scene shows the collapse of a massive ice shelf (a floating glacier) in Antarctica. Could this really happen? If so, how might this affect global sea levels?

3.Is it realistic to think our climate is in a fragile state? What does burning fossil fuels have to do with global warming ice caps?

4.At the meeting in India, Jack mentions how the climate is fragile but the vice- oersident states the economy is even more fragile? Talk about the difference between a fragile economy and a fragile climate. Should the vice-president have dismissed Jack’s claims because of the coststo fix the problems with global warming?

5.What is happening in New York with the animals in the city? Why are all the birds in the city leaving? Why are the animals in the zoo going crazy? Is this a sign? Do animals have a sixth sense which can predict natural disasters?

6. In the movie, tornadoes whip through Angeles and flatten the city. New York City is engulfed
by an enormous tidal wave and freezes, burying the city in ice. Could this really happen so quickly
with these effects?
7. Jack predicts the cause of this drastic climate shift is due to the disruption of the North Atlantic
Current. What is the cause of this change in the current? Can this really happen to fast? Can one
storm really create an ice age?
8. The movie depicts a massive freeze sweeping across Europe and the northern United States,
resulting in a mass migration to Mexico for survival. Is this how global warming is likely to
develop? Why or why not? Why were people fleeing to Mexico in the first place? Did the
president make the right decision to evacuate ONLY the southern states and leave the people
behind in the northern states?
9. Explain what happens in the “eye of the storm.” Why can you survive the eye of the storm if you
are inside and have shelter but instantaneously freeze if you are outside? Is it realistic that the fire
stayed lit in the library where Sam was and in the shelter where Jack was? (Think about what
happened to the fuel in the helicopters in Scotland).
10. Explain the following comment from the astronaut after the storm cleared: “Have you ever seen
the air so clear?” What is the significance of this statement?
i no! its a movie but the library doesnt have it and isnt getting it for 2 weeks, so now i have to find the answers some how. and pleasee answer if you no any even if its just one it will really help me outt!!

I’m writing a paper on why more people need to have shelters ready because you never know what’s going to happen. And how you shouldn’t only think that because you live in a certain region, it won’t happen. What are shelters available for all natural disasters no matter what they are?

thanks so much.

or any ideas on what I could right about in regard to tornadoes… and a point that should be made about them, that’s the main topic of my essay .. thanks :)

Since the results of terrorist attacks, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, floods, fires, etc; are:

Prewarnings
Fear
Run and/or take shelter
Lost Property
Unplanned Injuries
Unplanned Fatalities
Lost Money
Lost Credibility
Lost Memories
Rescue Efforts
Recovery Efforts
Salvaging through rubble
Cleaning up after someone/something else’s actions
Rebuilding/Relocating

Should the National Agencies that deal with Terrorism be involved with the PreWarnings through the Re-Establishings??
"Are tornados fighting for freedom?"?

YES!!

Tornados seek refuge from the sky and mountains and anything that would dissipate them!!

Definition of terrorism: 1; The act of terrorizing OR the STATE of BEING TERRORIZED. 2; Unlawful acts of violence committed in an attempt to overthrow a government. 3;A system of government that rules by intimidation.

Definition of terror: 1; An overwhelming impulse of fear; extreme fright or dread. 2; A person OR THING that causes extreme fear. 3; ‘informal’; An intolerable nuiscence.

I really believe that tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, fires, collisions, tsunamis, avalanches, explosions, etc; that provoke unplanned fears and cause undue damages fits all the dictionary definitions.

Source: Funk & Wagnalls Standard Desktop Dictionary.

Your definitions are definitely there, also.
Climber;

So you agree that the Department of Homeland Security is a "lame duck’ agency? Per what you stated, the CIA and FBI does all the criminal stuff, FEMA and Local Agencies does all the natural disaster stuff, and Homeland Security is left with "twiddling their thumbs"?

Hurricane Katrina had FEMA, the National Guard, and additional Federal Agencies pulling a majority of the items listed!!

I have to disagree with your assessments of my questions, because I’ve seen too many natural disasters take more lives on our homeland soils than the military troop losses on a yearly basis, even through the Iraq War.

I believe all disasters are terrorizing, on different levels, sure, but all are terrorizing. Citizen Fatalaties to failed building structure frames, is a major injustice, especially when every other technology is modern, and the entire construction industry is using centuries-old technology to protect us with!! We want out of California to a less populated state with good air quality. Affordable yet free of natural disasters we aren’t used to, cannot move where tornadoes & blizzards devastate. Montana seems like the best state overall for our needs, yet I cannot ignore the potential racism we may face being a caucasian/Hispanic couple, with children. We’ve only encountered issues while traveling, but not at home. I don’t want my husband being at a disadvantage career wise, or my children experiencing racist hatred. Opinions?
21 questions- I’ve lived in CA the majority of my life and have only dealt with extreme heat, & a teeny earthquake. The worst disaster I’ve had to deal with of the natural variety, are garden weeds.
G Man AKA Jack Bauer- Your input is clearly smothered in racism, which is ugly & unwanted. People like you, should be sent to concentration camps, sterilized, then given lobotomies.

I am looking for a state where it is not too hot in the summer, and not too cold in the winter. Doesn’t snow in the winter and in the summer ppl don’t get sunburn’t. A state where I can go outside anytime of the year in short sleeve shirts. I don’t want to goto california, because of high earthquake rate. Basically the state should have the most refreshing climate and the style of living should be good too. Don’t care about cost of housing. Just the quality of life. And it should be safe too from natural disasters like hurricanes or tornados.

Doesn’t it seem strange that to anyone else that the wildfires are happening in California, and hurricanes happen frequently in Florida & Louisiana and other gulf states, and that there are tornadoes more frequently in the midwestern states?? Do you think God is showing his wrath?? I know for a fact that alot of "natural disasters" happen in these areas…and I truly believe that God’s Wrath is sparking these situations. What do you believe?
There is alot of nasty things going on in places like Florida (Filthy Rich, Notoriety, common place for sexual mayhem) California (Filthy Rich & Notoriety, also known for sexual mayhem), Louisiana (Mardi Gras, we all know what that’s about!!)….and Lord only knows about the Midwest…..I see a pattern here!!! / :

Yeah In Minnesota it does get too cold and snowy way too soon. But over here in Brazil its not even fair, you can frie an egg in the car, even in california it used to get too hot. when its too hot I set the shower to cold and the water still is warm. I´d prefer to be somewhere were it gets 20 below than where it gets 110 °F. But resuming about global warming I think it might have a big impact considering that we had no tornados prior to the industrial revolution , and innumerous natural disasters compared to now days that I believe to be caused by it. It´s not simply warming up the planet and having the greenhouse effect. Since it takes centuries for the earth to warm up or cool down 1°C and the 5-year moving average of the global average temperature has increased by only about 0.7 degrees Celsius over the last 100 years I think that the hurricanes, tornados, and tsunamis are the biggest catastrophe that we have to worry about concerning that.

Why do some Christians (note I used "some" so I don’t want to hear any defensive whining) point to judgement from God when natural or human disasters happen in places like New York or California or New Orleans etc. I am already hearing some saying the fires in California are some kind of judgement from God etc.

But far more natural disasters have and still happen in the Bible Belt by way of floods, tornadoes, drought etc. In addition, there are lots of Christians in places like New York, California and New Orleans.

By your reasoning, why is God punishing them as well?

This is meant for people to learn off each other and not take stabs at each other. Did you ever notice how the headlines in this world today come out right at the same time that a major sin takes place? (These are not the exact quoted headlines)

Example: Gay marriages legalized in California
California wildfires out of control

Woman in Florida taken off life support
Hurricane strikes Florida

Abortion supporters fight for their rights
100 killed, 30 injured in car bomb

Birth Control hits the counters for teens
Economy near a depression

Child porn videos released on the internet
2008 the record year for tornadoes

China accused of causing lead poisoning in kids
Massive earthquake strikes China

These are just a few of the filthy things that are happening… It’s time for change…
I noticed most of you didn’t understand the point of this, which proves my point completely. You are right that dirty videos and natural disasters have nothing connected together by man’s standards (but remember I asked for Catholics to answer this). I would’ve added that the headlines are not all directly related, but I didn’t have any more room for words on the question. I apologize for that. Some of you must have been realizing the same kind of situations but maybe in different ways. I was once a very bad person because I was in a rebel stage of my life (like the person who mentioned George Bush and hot dogs). This was not meant to take stabs at anyone but when you ridicule something as serious as this, you cannot get a pat on the back. For people that saw the point of this posting, remember that making every first Saturday mass (of the month) will promise us mercy. Praying the rosary and praying to Our Lady and St. Jude will lift us out of the hole that we dug for ourselves. Thanks

and does he? Before you say "yes" to either you should know that the U.S. has a higher homicide rate than all of western Europe and most of Asia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_murder_rate#

and the same goes for the infant mortality rate

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_infant_mortality_rate_(2005)

and as far as God’s wrath (natural disasters) is concerned the U.S. is one of the most dangerous places to live. The U.S. has more tornadoes than the rest of the world combined, the majority of these tornadoes occur in the midwest (bible belt) region. When you add California’s earthquakes, the south’s hurricanes and the largest and most active volcano on Earth (Mona Loa) it appears the United States in not only not blessed by God, but at the butt end of his wrath. Don’t you agree?
I should also note that the bible belt and tornado alley also encompass parts of the U.S. which are not part of the midwest region.
But my point is we live in a predominantly Christian country. Why is the predominantly atheist/agnostic Europe have fewer deaths per capita and less disasters?
John D, last I heard the religious and scientific communities were clashing. Maybe you’ve been under a rock for the past 30 years.
I keep seeing the term, "superpower". Well we weren’t always one and being a superpower isn’t necessarily a good thing either. It just shows that you have the ability to butt into others affairs when you don’t like the way they’re headed.

***Massive tornadoes, flood and earthquakes that have destroyed houses. Like mention the states were it most happens. If it happens in every state then I’ll state in this shithole and stay poor.
And yes I live outside of the U.S. I am looking for a good nest to live in.

The year is 2020, and chaos is an understatement. Life as we knew it has changed forever and it looks like the world is finally coming to an end. Kori Montgomery’s only safety harbor is her best friend Xavier Hart. Her world comes crashing down when he disappears suddenly. Three months after his disappearance the world is still holding up but it is getting worse. World war 3 is still raging on and natural disasters are getting more common each day. I am still brain storming on what to write about. I started thinking about one story, but I’m afraid people will think it’s boring and plain. I enjoy writing most of all because of the detail and description you can put into it. So far from this summary, do you think someone else would want to read it?

The year is 2020, and chaos is an understatement. Life as we knew it has changed forever and it looks like the world is finally coming to an end. Kori Montgomery’s only safety harbor is her best friend Xavier Hart. Her world comes crashing down when he disappears suddenly. Three months after his disappearance the world is still holding up but it is getting worse. World war 3 is still raging on and natural disasters are getting more common each day. Flooding, tornadoes, fires, and even earthquakes strike through Chicago. Xavier mysteriously returns with no explanation to where he has been. But with him he brings back secrets, and maybe even a plan to save their world.

What do you think? Is it worth writing?
