I will graduate soon so I plan to move to the USA in order to get a stage and thus, maybe I’d get a job there, too. However, I’ve heard some statements saying that the American climate is kind of like unpleasant in most of the places, so that’s why I’m asking you this. The news always show too much snow and cold in the winter in many states, and also an absurdly hot weather in summertime, like now, when 22 people have died because of the high temperatures. I’d like to live somewhere I would have some snow but it’s not too cold and I’d also like to enjoy some hot days, suitable for practicing nautical sports. Some people have told me about Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado and California but I’ve recently watched the news reporting about the damages caused by tornadoes in many of the above related states and also I’ve heard that California is not good for sighting snow. What do you think? Thank you.

Ok I have a very large database of music. It is in one central location on my media hub. A lot of the songs are either missing album art, misspelled, duplicates and so on (basically the folder is like a tornado going thru a house). — I don’t care if the program burns (that’s what Nero is for) or that it will play the music for me. I’ve heard of Rinse, Music Management Software, Musicmatch Jukebox but none seem to be what im looking for unless I’m reading the program wrong. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

–> A basic program that will remove dups, correct the spelling (by searching the net for correct info) and add album art to each song/cd.
***Forgot to add*** Some programs will search for dups if they are spelled (pretty close the same) but lets say a song is called "Nine Inch Nails – Hurt" and there is a song that is exact the same but spelled NIN-Hurt(1). That can sometimes throw the program off. Im looking for a program that can read between those lines or will take a few seconds to analyze each song and distinguish what is the same and what is not. Thank You!
I have Media Monkey – it does alright but looking to see if there are any other programs out there that might do a better job then ones I’ve already seen/used (Companies I’ve never heard but are highly known). Thanks for your input tho.

Ok, I understand trees need to be removed sometimes for construction, safety, etc.

But most people go overboard. I think that during construction, people don’t do nearly a good enough job to replant. It horrifies me when acres of old growth forest is removed to plant tiny little fruit trees you see on parking lot isles.

Also, what’s up with people who have a phobia of trees falling and killing them. I mean…maybe if you live in a tornado alley, but if you leave in the Northeast, or Northwest or Colorado or something…I don’t see how there’s a high chance of a tree falling down and killing you.

People treat the most valuable asset of their property as junk, they think it’s annoying because it’s shade and leaves? really people?

I have lived on a very wooded lot with 50 foot tall oaks and spruces surrounding my house on all sides and only once in 10 years a branch fell off from a spruce and hit the side of my house…big deal. Honestly, my house is insured, so worst comes to worst, I will fix it. But i can never see myself cutting such a magnificent living thing down.

It’s sad. People cut down, and usually don’t replant – our country will look like desert with endless pavement and line-of-sight buildings in 30 years if this doesn’t stop.

Alright, here goes..
My best friend and I have been fwb on and off for nearly a decade now, never sleeping together when we’re in a relationship but have maintained a very close friendship. We concieved a child together last June who is now just turning 3 months old. We both have 2 children from previous relationships that are around the same age, and I am now back with the father of my other 2. My husband to be treats our son as if he’s his own(he knows otherwise) and is probably the best father in the world to all 3 of the kids. I still speak to my friend, and I believe he wants to be a part of our sons life but feels awkward about the situation. He hasn’t seen our son since we had a dna test done 2 1/2 months ago, but stays in contact with me. I don’t want him to wait until it’s too late for our son to know him as his Dad if that’s what he wants to be to him. I send him pictures via text and very rarely get a response, I know he feels guilty, I know he’s confused, and I know he’s stressed out right now. (We live in a city that just got wiped out by a tornado, he lost his job and quite a bit of self esteem, and is also expecting his first grandchild) I’ve already told him I don’t want money from him for child support(I make enough money to take care of the kids), that what’s important to me is that he have a role in our childs life, emotional support is far more important to me then money. To the question now that you have the back story..
I bought him a card for fathers day. I buy him cards for holidays most of the time, but this one is obviously quite a bit different as we have a child together now. I want to write something in it that will make him really sit down and think about what it means to be a father, and what it means to our son. I haven’t been able to find a quote that does it for me yet. Any ideas?
(Please leave the input about the situation to a minimum, looking for a meaningful quote for a fathers day card)

So I am totally set on leaving Cali and moving to Texas, my uncle moved out there just less then a year ago and he likes it, weather wise it is comparable to my area of Cali and the cost of living is WAY cheaper! and it’s not in a tornado area of Texas either so that’s definitely a plus.

So I am so excited to move I wish we could move yesterday! but we can’t we have a few loose ends to tie up first and my husband has to find a job there and we gotta find a home and all of that. So right now I am just making a financial plan so I know what we need to save. I figured uhaul cost, utility hook ups, closing costs on the new house, and I budgeted 4 mo of house payments utilities, food, and misc living expenses just in case my husband doesn’t find a job right away (his chances are way better there then here so I am confident he will have something decent in 4 mo.) am I missing any costs? help me, I have never moved further then an hour away!

Hi, I’m 21 years old and I live in Indiana and I hate it here. I am in college so I want a college where I can transfer. I just need to move to a place where people don’t know me where I can start over. I was originally looking into New York or California but I’m willing to move somewhere for a few years til I graduate college, then if I want to move there I will.

So here is a little about me:
I’m majoring in English hopefully to work in a magazine one day
I live in a small town right now and I hate it so I want someplace interesting with lots of things to do.
I have a little chihuahua so I want a good place for her to live
When I move, I will know no one so I want a place with friendly people
I can not handle huge bugs. They gross me out, especially giant cockroaches and anything that can kill me such as snakes, scorpians, and so on.
I will be about to spend up to 00 a month on everything (Includes rent, utilites, groceries, and all that) but I might be able to spend more than this if I can find a job before I move.
I plan on moving in August 2011
I want a place where I can possibly meet a potential BF. Haven’t had the best luck in Indiana seeming all the guys here are into drugs and I mean everyone (i’m not being dramatic).
I don’t like any extreme weather such as hurricanes and tornadoes. I’ve never been through a tornado so they scare me more than an earthquake!
I’m not a big fan of snow, but I can handle it with living in Indiana all my life.

So where should I look into moving? I’ve been considering Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, as well as New York and California.

btw before I move, I’m going to try to find a job before I go :)

Thanks!!!

I’ve just moved to oklahoma city in oklahoma where is mostly known as tornado alley, i didn’t want to move but i had to because of my job relocation. Since i’ve heard on television on the news back in 1999 about the deadliest may 3rd 1999 tornado outbreak in history, i never would want to move here if it wasn’t for my job. But does anything like that ever happen here often ? People said that tornadoes here in Oklahoma forms into the deadly F5 tornadoes that is about a mile wide in diameter. What are some ways i could make sure my wife & family is safe during one of these outbreaks if I’m away from home ? Also, how could i keep myself safe if i am on the 34th floor in an building with only express elevators ? The elevators don’t have stops between floors Lobby – 29th. I’m very curious about my family’s safety and mine’s in case if one of these tornado outbreaks occurs

I want to know like how much realistically could you make, how hard is it to get a job as one. I just want to know deatils from somebody that knows what they are talking about. I am just looking for something that would cover the expenses for one tornado season each year. something that would pay off gas and hotel bills and such whcih at the end of the season would come out to around 10 grand

Ok, so here is the situation:
We had a tornado watch in the area here today and I went to check on my son. < I usually don’t do things like that because I know it would upset and confuse my child to see me come and go but not take him with me.>
Anyway, when I got there, there was no one in the building…that is except ONE small child (maybe 3 or not quite). They had evacuated the building for shelter but left this one child. Luckily, I was there and found her; scared but nonetheless found her. I am FURIOUS! There are so many things wrong with that! I am thinking that it could have been MY child and even though it isn’t it is SOMEONES baby and I would be worse that a tornado if that WAS my child. So I think the mother needs to know. Beyond that I am not sure what other actions to pursue. What do you think???
By the way my child was in a daycare/preschool and the manager does know…now. I think it should have been the manager’s job to do a final sweep and make sure the kids were all safely evacuated. Also, she was not hiding. She was on her assigned mat used for nap time. Just sitting there….all alone :(

A month ago we had our roof replaced from a tornado and the company we went with gave us an estimate to replace the roof and the gutters. The guy that gave us the estimate said that we would only be responsible for the deductible from out insurance claim. The guys came and did the roofing but the gutters are still not done. We have already given them what the insurance payed and there is still more then the deductible left over. The guy from the company said that we had to pay for the roof first and then they would do the gutters and then charge us for that, even thought the estimator they sent told us that we would only have to pay them when the job was done. So now they are charging us interest on the roofing part and we are still waiting for the gutters. Is this right???

I currently live in Indiana and am planning on moving to another state so I can finish my last two years of college. I either want to move to California or New York. I really want to move to California but I hear all these negative things there. My mom doesn’t really want me to move to New York because shes afraid of the violence and the bombings that go down there.

Here’s a little about me:
I am majoring in English, but want to major in either journalism or creative writing but my college that im in doesnt have those degrees
I am very quiet so I want a place with friendly people and where i can make friends easy (i will be moving all by myself so I wont know anyone)
I hate snow but I have never been in a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, or any extreme weather like that.
I want a place where its not Impossible to find a job.
With financial aid and everything I will be able to spend around 00 a month on an apartment (i would prefer a house but I doubt I will find one). I dont want to live in a dorm because I have a small dog
I love music so I would love to get a job or even an internship at a music store or record label.
I want to be an entertainment new writer or work in a magazine where I write about celebrities.
I don’t want to live somewhere with a lot of violence.

So what is your opinion? should I move to New York or California? Which is better violence, job, more friendly people wise? Which schools are the best to apply to? I don’t have the greatest grades but Im doing better this semester with straight A’s. Ad which community is the best to move to?

Thanks!!!!! 10 pts for best answer!!!!

I have lived in Los Angeles, Ca all my life and we have earthquakes over here. The last huge earthquake that was really really bad, was the 1992 NorthRidge earthquake. Since then we have had earthquakes, but small or medium size ones enough to shake u up, stop and say "woah!" but not that big. I just got a promotion from my job and they are moving me to Oklahoma City. Here’s my thought on it. At least I would be given a warning when a Tornadoe is coming since there are signs of them, unlike earthquakes that come with no signs, but how do you deal with the fact that you might loose your home every year and have to have it rebuild all the time? Also……………….is it true that Oklahoma houses have no basments!??? I’m not the party crazy kind of guy, me an my wife (young newly wed couple) actually like the peace and quiet so we are excited about Oklahoma. What should we expect? Are there any bad parts to oklahoma like in los angeles that have really ruff neighborhoods?

I am deciding on which state I should move to. I’m currently a college student and plan on applying to the colleges there. With student loans, I will be able to get an apartment for around ,000-00 maybe even more. I really want to live in a state that has nice weather, friendly people, not too dangerous, not hard to find jobs, and not hard to find an apartment.

I’m deciding between New York and California. I am majoring in English, maybe journalism. I live in Indiana, so to New York it will be 12 hours away and California is 1 day 12 hours away.

I’ve been told that I should trying going in the dorms (I won’t know anyone in the state, so I wanna try and make friends) but I have a lot of furniture I want to take and I also have a dog and I don’t want to give her away. Plus, during holidays, I want my mom to visit me for a few weeks so I think an apartment would be a better choice. I plan on joining clubs and activities at whatever college I go to and i’ll probably go to coffee shops and walk around, so I would think I’m bound to make some friends. I’m quiet, but i’m a very nice person.

So which state do you think I should move to? California or New York? again, I want something that has apartments or even houses (which I doubt) for around 00 a month, more easy to find a job in the state, not too bad of a weather (I’ve never been through floodings, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, or anything like that so i’m not sure what to expect), and some place that doesn’t have a lot of violence.
I’m a sophomore right now, but am tranfering colleges

well im only 13 now but i am fantasizing about where i want to live when i grow up. I live in Michigan right now. I think i don’t want to live here forever but you never know. Here is my criteria: no hurricanes, it needs 4 seasons, as little danger and crime as possible (I am planning on a family), I would like the land to be hilly it dosent have to be mountains just not all flat (partly because i love to ski and its pretty), and one with a very very minumal amount of tornados. here is my main problem I know I am going to have a horse barn on my property so I want to live a little out in the country at least but i really like to shop and be fasionable so I want to live near a big enough safe town (city). I also think I want to be a orthodontist. Is there any place like this?

I wasthinking maybe in Pennsilvania or maybe in Illinois outside of Chicago or maybe thats to crime filled.

please answer with as much info as possible and if you live there tell me about it. thanks :)
I know that I need to go where my job will be but based on my criteria where should i live

Im needing any info I can get for the area. Ive looked at online papers and rent is a bit high in F. Atkinson, but what about smallish towns around?
What about weather, tornadoes?, are the roads hard to deal with in the winter?
We have a 5 yr old that will be starting 1st grade next year when we move there, so what about the schools?
Im an LPN so a job shouldnt be that hard for me to come by. My hubby is going through police academy down here in Jan also.

Thanks any help would be appreciated,

This is hard to make sure i get in every little bit of info i feel is needed without making this a huge question (sorry if it’s too long but i can use your kind words!)
My husband to be is the bread winner, I stay home with our son, he feels because he buys everything & pays for bills & things like that, he is exempt from cleaning up the house. So he is not much help as far as that goes, & I know a lot of you may think this is ridiculous & what a jerk? (am i right?) Well in a way he’s right, I get the privilege to be lazy & do what i want everyday, he gives me money when i need it, he takes good care of us, he just thinks my JOB is to clean & cook (which i agree, I have it good! & i don’t deny that but tend to take advantage of it i suppose….) but i wish he would help out just once in a while, especially now that i’m pregnant again, he doesn’t understand how tired I am.
AND OUR SON! Oh my gosh!! he is my little tornado, he seems to think everything belongs on the floor, he’s been getting into things like crazy (in the last few weeks which is not normal) I try to get him to help me clean up, we sing the clean up son from barney & he’ll start doing something but when i help he stops doing it & lets me do it, if i ask him to do something (such as clean up your legos in your bedroom) It is like pulling teeth & i end up getting more stressed over asking him to do something, He is only 3 (4 end of may) I think he should help with little things, but I just don’t know how to get him to help me, with effort & not having to ask like crazy…… with my fiance, I’ve talked to him about this many times & told him i don’t expect much & some days he’ll do things like pick up & clear some stuff of his coffee table which is always cluttered with who knows what! I get really irritated when he takes our car back & forth to work & such…. & i won’t drive it for days, & he thrashes it & i just get so sick of "bitching" excuse my language, but I feel like such a nag, nag on my son, nag on my man……
Any ideas? or examples of what you do to get a little more help around the house?
Are you a stay at home parent?
Thanks for your time

I was just sitting here thinking about the high gas prices and the future. I drive a daily route that somedays consists of 200+ miles round trip by the time I get back home. Its my job and im glad to have one. I have cut, trimmed and am doing everything I can to counter the high gas prices.Im now just looking down the road a bit and was wondering,
"what impact would a large Hurricane or two, say a cat 4 or 5 in the Gulf do to the already high prices at the pump?"
