I understand and know that George W. Bush could serve only two terms : (, However I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

1. He’s ALWAYS honest to all of us American citizens.

2. He’s a christian who loves our people.

3. He cut taxes throughout the US economy.

4. He provided better health care and loves to help out the poor.

5. He did an excellent job on our education system by having our schools levy taxes.

6. He helped out with hurricane Katrina after that terrible disaster down in Louisiana and helped out the people by getting some of their homes and supplies back.

7. He sent our troops to Iraq (Which I disagree with) but all of us love them and their fighting for our country and their doing a heck of a job. God Bless them.

8. George W. Bush is not only honest 100% of the time but he is a true peacemaker and wants the best.

He by far is my favorite president and I would vote for him over Hilliary anyday of the week, month or year.

His delay is no different than GW’s delay over the hurricane Katrina’s rescue relief, but no one dare criticize 0bama! Could he have sought more help out of the private sector to fill in the time gap?
Sheesh! yes you certainly are ollie!

Before I ask this I have to say first off that I still do truly feel for the people of Haiti and what they have gone through and are still going through.

However I do have to say that I am a little perturbed by the fact that the current Haitian relief efforts are the largest since 9-11, and I say this because of Hurricane Katrina.

How and why is it that we as Americans are sending more help and supplies to a third world country then we sent to our own people?

We could not even pull together and get things right in the side of the U.S. after Karina, yet we were in Haiti 2 days after the quake with almost double the supplies that we first sent to the people of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. I really have to say that, that does not look good on us at all.

We have sent mass supplies and aid to Haiti, and we sent a bunch of "trailers" to Louisiana that we’re useless because of where they were put.

Is America really so backwards that we care more about sending others help, then helping out our own kind?

Women in Louisiana were standing in the streets a WEEK after the storm crying while holding infants saying their babies hadn’t been feed for 2-3 days and hadn’t been changed either, because no one had sent them formula or diapers. However a week after the quake in Haiti we were loading airplanes with orphans and families and bringing them to the states.

I really feel for Haiti, but on the same note it makes me sick to think that we have already sent over a billion dollars in money and goods to Haiti, but after Katrina, housing companies used our southern states as a big ass tax write off AND NEVER EVEN BUILT THE HOMES.

***Questions at bottom of Additional Information***

I was watching the news about the HORRORS happening across the world from me and I keep hearing people say REALLY stupid things like “It’s no surprise that the US Supplies are being stolen… Just look at what Bush did after Hurricane Katrina.” And it made me think about the bias in the news coverage when it came to Katrina.

I’m MIDDLE GROUND in everything so I don’t have the wool over my eyes when it comes from EITHER side of the nut-job spectrum so when I watched the difference in reporting, I was SHOCKED at how both sides were manipulating the disaster to further their own aims.

The BIGGEST thing I noticed was how CNN and the Leftie nut-job side referred to EVERYONE as a “Victim” while Fox News and the Rightie nut-job side and the non-biased referred to them as “Survivors” and it REALLY hit home.
If you label someone as a “Victim” then they take on a pathetic, beaten down, “I can’t help myself” air while a “Survivor” is someone that has SURVIVED THE WORST & is ready to help their fellow survivors & rebuild!

A “Victim” is weak & needs others to support them…
A “Survivor” is STRONG & willing to accept help but is working just as hard as the helpers!

I remember watching the interviews on the various news stations & it was shocking how they picked through the people to find the specific “Type” of person to interview to specifically further their own political aims.

I remember an interview with an Asian family & when the reporter kept calling them “Victims” they actually stopped her & said “We are not victims. We survived & we will rebuild.” & 6 months later I saw a 60 min’s story on how they flipped off the world & didn’t retreat.
The whole community stayed & pooled their money & resources & strengths & they had almost finished rebuilding the houses & repairing the streets while a few miles away, the houses were still mold covered & the people THERE were doing nothing but b*tching about George Bush & how they had yet to get their FIMA Debit Cards.

Everyone I asked about these details went STRAIGHT DOWN PARTY LINES! The Republicans said “They are Survivors” & the Democrats said “They are just victims, unable to help themselves.” While us Middle-Grounds could stand back & see the distinctions & the shades of grey.

***QUESTIONS***
Does anyone else understand the manipulation tactics of their own political party?

Why is it that only about 1% of the population of the US is even ABLE to see the blatant propaganda & manipulation tactics?

What is your opinion on this?
p.s. I see this type of manipulation EACH AND EVERY TIME I turn on the news, but with H.K. it was so obvious that it is the easiest thing to use as an example.

"Normal" news days can be ignored or it is so small that you need to research what REALLY happened to realize the way you have been manipulated, but with H.K. it was so obvious that I could almost see the "Thought Bubbles" over the heads of the reporters saying "Believe US and not THEM!"

I think, and I may be wrong, but I think Haiti and every other nation gave the USA {content}.00 after Hurricane Katrina.

Oh well, enough of the cold, hard facts….start loading the supply trucks for Haiti…its a thankless job but someone (USA) has to do it.

I was just wondering, since he has said that Hurricane Katrina and yesterday’s earthquake were God’s punishments for the sins of New Orleans and Haiti. Does he think that Kansas deserves to be hit by tornadoes time and again, or does he just cherry pick natural disasters to blame on the victims?

blame Bush and the Republicans for the crane collapse in NY??? So far, he has been blamed for:

Terrorists flying airplanes into the World Trade Center
Hurricane Katrina
The bridge Collapsing in Minnesota
The wildfires in California
The Kansas National Guard’s unpreparedness to handle tornado disaster.

Most people believe the Gulf storms were responsible for the increase in the price of petroleum products, but they are wrong. There was an adequate supply of fuel across America on the day Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans, but the price of gasoline immediately "spiked" to over .00 a gallon.

The recent increase in the price of oil and natural gas was orchestrated by OPEC, the oil cartel (The Four Remaining Sisters), and the Bush administration to:

(1) Promote conservation
(2) Increase profits
(3) Lower our standard of living
(4) Destroy our economy
(5) Impoverish the American people

When the cartel began raising the price of oil last year, the Bush administration continued purchasing petroleum for the Strategic Oil Reserve which increased the price of oil. Senator Bingaman asked the President to suspend purchases until the price stabilized, but he refused, and many Americans will pay 20% of their take-home pay on energy this winter.

When the oil price surged to a barrel, the Bush administration released oil from the Strategic Reserve and the price fell to a barrel, The Washington Times reported:

"Recent gasoline-price spikes have given new meaning to the phrase ‘pain at the pump.’ And with demand from India, China and elsewhere growing, and U.S. failure to open a single new oil refinery since the 1970s, supplies could remain tight and prices elevated for some time." (italics added)[1]

The U.S. imports 400,000 gallons of gasoline a day from other countries because the environmental movement has blocked construction of new oil refineries in the United States for almost 30 years. The U.S. had 321 refineries in 1981; the U.S. has 149 oil refineries today. Many plants operate 24 hours a day (with no down-time for maintenance) to supply the growing demand for fuel, and to comply with EPA regulations that require refineries to formulate different types of gasoline in different regions of the country at different times of the year.[2]

Who funds the environmental movement? The oil cartel (The Four Remaining Sisters), major corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Why has the environmental movement blocked construction of new oil refineries? Because The Four Remaining Sisters don’t want competition.
Who are "The Four Remaining Sisters?" When Congress investigated the oil industry in 1911, they discovered the Standard Oil Trust (owned by John D. Rockefeller) controlled the banking industry, the oil industry, the transportation industry, and several other major industries. To counter the dangerous concentration of power, Congress enacted legislation that broke up the Rockefeller Trust, and led to the formation of Standard Oil of New Jersey, Standard Oil of Ohio, Standard Oil of California, Standard Oil of New York, Mobil, and a number of other Rockefeller-owned companies.

Politicians Set Their Prices
The Democratic Congress seems intent on reviving the worst ideas of our past.

By Carrie Lukas

Apparently some lessons we must relearn. One might assume our disastrous economic flirtation with socialism in the 1970s — never mind the sorry record of command-and-control economics in the former Soviet bloc — would have buried the concept of government wage- and price-controls for at least a generation. Yet this Congress appears intent on resurrecting the worst policies of the past.

Price controls have superficial appeal. The average gas-price rose more than 10 percent last month, allowing pandering politicians to promise relief. They don’t say that consumers will suffer worse consequences if the government begins dictating how much oil companies and refiners can charge. And they ignore that government regulations and taxes already are largely responsible for high fuel prices. Instead they offer fantasy.

Take Rep. Bart Stupak’s (D., Mich.) “Federal Price Gouging Prevention Act.” This legislation would empower the Federal Trade Commission to crack down on anyone in the energy supply and distribution chain who “artificially inflates the price of energy.” Those found guilty would be subject to multi-million dollar fines and possible jail time. Overlooking the distasteful Stalinist flavor of this bill — locking up people for trying to sell at the best possible prices — this is economic ignorance on steroids.

Harsh penalties might discourage companies from raising prices, but also would convince many not to do business at all, particularly in times of crisis. In dire circumstances it costs more to deliver products, and companies have to charge more. Business owners who fear that raising prices will expose them to criminal penalties may simply close up shop.

This would have been a disaster, for example, during Hurricane Katrina. Suppliers would have been reluctant to ship fuel into devastated areas, and fuel would become even scarcer there. According to a study by the American Council for Capital Formation, if this legislation had been in effect during that tragic 2005 hurricane season, it would have imposed .9 billion in economic costs.

Thoughtful consumers understand the role prices play in the marketplace. We’ve all faced the dilemma of either paying more at the conveniently located gas station or going out of the way to someplace cheaper. Forcing both establishments to charge the same means the better-located store would have trouble keeping up with demand, perhaps running out of gas, while the less convenient store would fold.

Prices play an equally important role on the national level. If they rise significantly, individuals change their behavior. We can’t eliminate all driving, but we may rethink a long, summer road-trip or explore the possibility of carpooling. Some may forego a gas-guzzling SUV for smaller, more efficient vehicles or hybrids. And if a business “artificially” inflates prices, people turn to other sellers. Competition, not Congress, is the only effective way to keep prices down.

Prices also signal to the rest of the world that the United States needs fuel and is willing to pay for it. If prices aren’t allowed to rise, exporters will take their supplies elsewhere.

While price controls in the energy sector would create big problems, they’re nothing compared to the potential nightmare of the government meddling in setting wages. Yet that’s the direction many Democrats are heading.

Senator Tom Harkin (D., Iowa) has revived the 1970s idea of “comparable worth” in his “Fair Pay Act,” which he claims will “address the historic pattern of undervaluing and underpaying so-called ‘women’s’ jobs.” Senator Harkin thinks he and likeminded politicos have a better understanding of the value created by a given job. For example, the male-dominated profession of probation officers and the female-dominated field of social workers are rough equivalent in terms of level of skill and responsibility, according to Harkin, and therefore deserve the same pay.

Such hubris is astounding, even by Washington standards. Individuals consider countless factors when evaluating jobs: co-workers, clients, level of danger, dress code, commute, hours, flexibility, and opportunities for advancement, to name but a few. Wages are one factor that allows employers to attract enough qualified employees. If they offer too little, they won’t get sufficient help. They’ll have to increase the salary or do something else to make the job more attractive.

Outlaw this flexibility and there will be over-supply of labor in some professions and shortages in others. Imagine the political maneuvering that would determine the respective value of each job. Who’s more valuable: an elementary school teacher, nurse practitioner, sanitation worker, prison guard, public defender, or computer programmer? Who should we trust to make that determination: “experts” in Washington or the cumulative judgments of millions of free individuals?

The answer should be obvious. If it’s not, then America faces grim days ahead.

If you had to evacuate your home due to a natural disaster (hurricane, tornado, flood, earthquake, etc), or a man-made disaster (chemical spill, fire, gas leak, terrorist attack, etc), what would you do with your pets? Most emergency shelters make NO provisions for pets! You can’t bring a large dog, or multiple dogs just anywhere. You’d have to find another safe place for them. Many dogs were totally abandoned during Hurricane Katrina. Would your pets get abandoned if you was forced to evacuate your home?

Do you have a plan to evacuate your home, with your family and your dogs in an emergency? Do you know somebody (in another area) who could temporarily house your dogs during a disaster? Would you be willing to offer temporary housing to a friend’s dogs, or a family member’s dogs? What arrangements have you made? What would you do?

At the very least, I hope that a question like this would provoke some serious thought. Once distaster strikes, it’s too late.
Another question … Do you have an emergency kit (food, water, supplies, medications, etc) for your dog(s)? If you and your pets had to leave your home in an emergency, you’d need one. What’s in your kit?

Us Mormons have a one year food supply. If you think this is funny then you would be suprised to know that during Hurricane Katrina our food supply helped thousands of people survive.

You should always be prepared and our Prophet has counseled us to have a one year supply of food in case of the worst.

My question is, what is the one thing you absolutely could not eat for a week straight?

For me it’s um….pasta salad
my wife, liver.

its not like he is an all powerful dictator. we have a system of checks and balances so that the president doesn’t have complete power. if congress really thought we needed to be out of iraq, we would be out of iraq. Bush doesn’t have the power to use all of the earths resources unsustainably. that is done by the people of our country. my point is that Bush is not at fault for everything that people blame on him. i even heard of people blaming hurricane katrina happening because of him. people say that bush didn’t get supplies down to New orleans fast enough. how is that his fault. does anyone really think bush was talking to fema people say "lets make the people of new orleans suffer a bit longer" NO Way would anyone do that.

Our "friend", proclaimed handyman, really got us for home improvements costs. During his work, he asked for ,500. which (duh) I gave him by check written out "cash" w/comments on the bottom "home improvement." I paid for all supplies. Long story short, 75% of work is not finished. He tried to put a sprinkler system in our yard, but had no clue. Our screens on back porch are now in place, but he never finished cutting them properly. We live in FL & Hurricane Katrina did a bit of damage. We paid for a pressure cleaner which he used 1st for his own home & charged us for the rental & /hr. to shoot a bit around our home. Twice he used a snake to unclog, but Draino works. He presented me w/a bill & I could not read it. All scribbles, but thinking he was a good friend of my husband, I wrote him a ,500 check. Later we argued about the unfinished work & I fired him. Can I get any money back? Would appreciate any advice or experiences. TY — Patti H

Many of our country’s "enemies" have offered help to us in wake of tragic events; most of their offers refused.

In Hurricane Katrina, Cuba was one of the first nations to respond and offered to send doctors, tons of medicinal supplies, and money. The US Government declined and told Cuba "no". Now say what you want about political differences but if help is offered immiediately it really doesn’t matter who it is coming from and you are declining the supplies offered to the people who need it.

Also in Hurricane Katrina assistance from France was at first rejected but we later on accepted their aid.

On 9/11 Mayor Guiliani would not accept a 1 million dollar donation from Saudi Arabia.

How do you feel about our government declining the aid of our "enemies". I use "enemies" in quotes because I don’t regard Cuba and France as threats to us. It is a way to mend relations with our nations; to work together in wake of tragedies. A step towards making progress during these wars.

Gas prices have fallen sharply in the past MONTH and a half.

Despite the fact gas prices are based on supply and demand , demand has only risen while supplies have been mildly harmed by BP’s pipeline problems and problems withint he infrastructure dating back to Hurricane Katrina.

Many of us aren’t fools though. WE KNOW THAT GAS PRICES ARE DROPPING BECAUSE THIS IS ELECTION YEAR (less than 2 months away).

My question is, how many people are going to let falling gas prices SWAY their vote?

America has been using the national debt and astronomical military spending to subsidize the true cost of fuel. This is not an opinion, this is an accepted fact among political researchers. You can bother to investigate it yourself.

JUST KNOW, AFTER NOVEMBER, GAS PRICES ARE RIGHT BACK UP TO .25 – I’m willing to bet money on that.

Sadly, the selfless heroism of New York’s Police and Firemen manifested on 9-11 appears to not be the “norm”. The public is becoming aware that our family’s, communities and our own health and safety rests in our own hands.
Columbine High School on April 20, 1999: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murderous rampage began at 11 am, and they committed suicide an hour later at 12:08 pm — Police protocols had teams reaching the first victims 4 hours after the first shots had been fired or about 3 pm – victims who would die in the extra half hour it would take before those same police protocols allowed paramedics clearance to respond.
Hurricane Katrina: Officials tasked the National Guard to duties other than providing needed survival supplies and the Red Cross and Salvation Army were denied entrance as evacuation protocals didn’t want any food, water and sanitary supplies getting into the Superdome or Convention Center. It was and is up to the public to supply our own protection and aid.

I know during hurricane katrina the national guard was sent in to distribute supplies to people, helping the police in restoring order, and knocking door by door to evacuate people, all while carrying a machine gun on their backs. Im in highshool and would like to join the gaurd and I would like a job like that. What kind of job in the Guard lets you work with people, distribute needed supplies, enforce the law, help in natural disasters or terrorist attacks? Answers are appreciated

As if some kind of radiated pulse or modifier is aimed at water supply near storm to increase the storm development in a certain area.

I have noticed this and have copied several instances to my hard drive. Whenever I have seen these patterns – these storms became major disasters.

Could our Government have some kind of Weather Modification satellite in space? You know, some kind of microwave pulse or beam directed at nearby water supplies to warm up the water and creat more moisture/power in the storm.

I saw this during hurricane Katrina – A major glitch flashing right across the Infrared weather screen right befor ethe storm intensified.

And it is only visible on the Infrared screen

Just throwing this out there.
