Okay, i know that there is many predictions that the world is going to end in 2012. But in all seriousness, do they have 100% full proof that it will? I know about the Mayan calender and stuff, but i just can’t picture everything coming to an end. What is the percentage that it WILL end? What is the cause of it ending? Something said that like the earth and the sun will be exactly alined, which means magnetic forces will go crazy and everything will erupt. Like volcanoes, hurricanes, tsunamies, earthquakes, tornados, etc. Can someone give me some answers, i’m actually a little freaked out by this.

I am 17 and I need to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life, my career. I wanted to be an Architect, but now I’m second guessing it. I am taking it as an elective at my high school, and its a lot of fun, but I know once i get to college, theres so much more to it than just making up floor plans.
Before Architecture, I wanted to become a Meteorologist. I kinda still do. I have an interest in weather and Natural Disasters(like tornadoes and earthquakes). My mom keeps telling me she can’t picture me in either career. I’m not sure if I can either all so much now I think about it.
So, What career is for me? I like drawing, designing, deciding where things go, music, weather, sports, helping others, nature, the environment, etc. I don’t like fashion and history.
I know for one, that I don’t want to become a nurse or doctor or dentist or vet or related fields. I am like, terrified of needles and stuff like that.
Thankyou for your responses :)

right now theres a storm outside bigger than any storm ive ever seen.

and now theres a tornado warning for my area… im so scared because ive never, ever seen really bad weather in my life ,and my dog is crying because of the thunder…

how do you calm yourself down when theres scary weather? considering i have really bad panic attacks and had just calm down until i woke up to my dog crying… :(

i know a sound like a little kid, but jeez im a southern california resident all my life, the worst ive seen was small earthquakes.. nothing like this rain, and never had a TORNADO warning so close to me! and the tree outside my window is looking pretty scary… :|
its not just a little rain, my street is flooded and im stuck at the house… :/

sorry, i sound stupid but ive literally never ever been in weather this bad.. i just need some reassurance.
we dont have a basement… :X or a room without windows… :X

where is the next safest place to go? cause we got an automated call from the city telling us to be careful and theres one of those clouds a few cities away…

whats safer… a bathtub, or a shower with a door? me and my mom need to know what to do if we have to hide… or would hiding under my bed work best? but i dont think we’d both fit down there… i dunno, they never gave us tornado drill practice when i was in elementary school or whatever, because we’ve never had to worry about it..!

I don’t know if any of you noticed that there’s been weird stuff going on..

How many earthquakes have there not been at Haiti? ; How bout Venenzuela? Or Guatemala?

Here in California, there’s rain flooding my streets.. It’s horrible! It’s sunny and the next minute it’s pouring! (AND WE HAD A TORNADO WARNING YESTERDAY HERE!)
Tornado? In California???

How’s your weather and what state?

(and if in Cali, what city?)

What state do you think would fit me the best. Okay so heres alittle info about me. im not a fan or like earthquakes tornado’s um and just basically big dangerous storms like that. i know they happen everywhere but i want somewhere that it is less likey to happem. i do like thunder storms though just not ones that could hurt me (= i like little suburban neighborhoods i guess. and it has to be a nice state with low chance of violence. and its nice for there to be a city near by i guess.
or you can try and open up my mind to your opinion and states that are fun for you or just fun and nice in General

I live in Houston Texas. I was wondering if anyone here has been through or seen a tornado here in Houston and how bad was it? I also want to know if you think it would be wise (with houstons flooding and all) to have a seller put in incase of a tornado? I came from Cali and hate the earthquakes but hey…at least you know when a tornado will possibly hit and where. with an earthquake you just don’t know. OH also, can a seller (like in "the wizard of oz" and "where the heart is") really be okay in a tornado of any catagory (like f1-f5)? Has anyone heard of anyone getting sucked out or anything. I know a scary thought but I have 2 kids and I want to be prepared. How deep and wide should a seller/shelter be? Thanks

I know i shouldn’t say this but i live in California(i know u probably won’t be able to find me or what city i’m in ’cause u don’t know my last name or anything so i’m not trying to be stupid by saying this, it’s just that CA’s weather is kinda well known i guess lol) and in almost all the city’s right really close to mine are all getting tornado warnings and i find this really weird since i’ve never heard of any tornados where i live and i can’t imagine it, just earthquakes. i don’t know if the town/city where i live will get a warning, but all the places that are getting warnings are really close to where i live and i was wondering how to prepare. do i like board the windows of my house with plywood? i don’t have a basement, and i was also wondering where’s the safest place to be. i have a small house, but we have a fireplace, and i’m wondering if that’s a safe place lol. or is the doorframe the safe place, like in an earthquake? anyway, please don’t be a stalker and try to find out where i live because u won’t be able to and that would be creepy…so yeah tell me what u think. : ]

Is it just me, or is there really major weirdness with the weather around the world lately–earthquakes in places where hardly any are reported, tornadoes in Brooklyn, etc.? Is this the result of global warming, or is this part of a bigger weather cycle? What’s the deal?

I ask because in every single insurance policy there is always a mention of hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and the like as ACTS OF GOD. You couldn’t very well include ACTS OF GOD in a policy if YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD, now can you? So can I safely assume that no atheists work in the insurance business? After all, how can you attribute all these terrible things to the God you do not believe in?

Earthquakes yes, but Tornado’s? Jesus spoke about these calamities, did he not?.
We had a tornado touch down on the 215 (an hour east of L.A.) a couple years ago. Uprooted trees, caused a few accident’s. Roofs off bulidings, no fatalities.
St Inanimate Phoenix-you are wrong. I was born and raised here in California, we have not always had tornado warnings.
HAIL AND HIGH WINDS HIT
UPDATE from The Press Enterprise:
The worst appears to have passed the Inland region for now; a roof collapses in Corona; tornado touches down in Seal Beach

I lived in Edmond, Oklahoma for 6 years. We had a Tornado 1 mile from the house. We were living there when the May 3rd, (1999 ?) Tornado hit Norman, OK. That one one an F-5, it took out almost the whole town. Grew up in California with the earthquakes, I’m back in California now. We have earthquakes all the time. So far we haven’t had the big one.
Loopie-I have lived through both, I can tell you that I will take the earthquakes over tornado’s. One fair swoop and your home is gone with a tornado. We have earthquakes all the time. Never any damage. There have only been a few major ones that have caused damage.

and over and over and let people see how those who support all Republicans think?
Lots of them say that God is punishing America with earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, even 9/11, and don’t you think they all support whoever is the Republican candidate? Doesn’t someone think you could put together a collage of video clips of (R) preachers that would outdo anything Wright said?

"MAN was created in the image of God, perfect in every way, as was the whole world. Man ruined that perfection when he chose sin, in spite of all the reasons God displayed to him to obey. For this reason, sorrow, tears, pain, sickness, death, and all that is bad in this world came into existence. This includes what many refer to as “acts of God” like tornadoes, hurricanes, drought, earthquakes, etc., that are primarily a result of the fall and of Satan seeking to destroy people. This was never the intention, and thus not the fault, of God. All people have sinned, for which the just penalty is death. Only through accepting Jesus as Savior and by making Him Lord of your life can you spend eternity with God in heaven. Those who reject or ignore Him will suffer God’s wrath for their sins and will suffer eternally in Hell. We are relocating to the Douglasville/Villa Rica area in Georgia from California. Does this area get hit by tornados often? We havent bought a house yet and we would like to be in an area that least hit by the rough weather. Any hints? Whats the best suburb to live in for that?

Also, what precautions should we take? I figure we should look for a house with a basement, with a few interior rooms that we can use as a shelter if we need it? My sister lives in Alabama and thats what they do, but what else do you think? We need advice. We just deal with earthquakes out here, tornados are foreign to us.

Any advice would be fantastic. Thanks!!!
The Douglasville area specifically? West of Atlanta? Or are you guys talking Georgia in general?

In Eden if Satan had not beguiled Eve, that fateful domino of a curse would not have come cascading down and there would be no need for bloodshed of ANY kind.
Also did you know that the curse he set in motion not only caused perfect man to become imperfect it actually compromised the integrity of the entire universe!-Romans8:20,21
That’s why we have earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados etc.
Satan is endowed with certain rights as is all of God’s gods. That’s right you are also a god (little “g”) that is part of our heritage being made in God’s “image”. We are eternal beings inside of this body of clay- John10:34 and YOU have certain rights imparted to YOU by God. You may choose to squander your rights but Satan invokes his rights at every opportunity and laughs at you. God has a limit on how long he will allow his creation to remain imperfect He will restore it.
In the mean time why are you allowing Satan to play three card molly on you?
Note: If Hitler had not accomplished that nightmare no one would have known the scope of his tyranny. What if God had allowed him to prevail, what then? But does God get any credit for stopping the madman?

My boyfriend and I have been talking about where to live outside of california and he suggested Oklahoma. He has relatives out there. And they live in Shawnee Oklahoma. I told him I never wanted to live in that state because they have tornadoes and twisters and all kinds of other things. But he said not in the location his relatives live in. They’ve never experienced one while they have lived there. But I don’t think it’s true that there are no tornadoes in that area. There are tornadoes ALL over Oklahoma aren’t there? California as far as I know is one of the only states that doesn’t ever get tornadoes like that only small little dirt devils. We have earthquakes and fires the worst.

Anyone live in Shawnee Oklahoma can tell me if he’s right or not? about there not being tornadoes in that part.

Tornadoes is one of the reason’s why I suggsted just staying in california.
