I’ve seen a lot of people say that this disaster or that is the result of our sins. Katrina happened because of sin, etc. So I’m trying to sort this out:

When the tornado hit the Boy Scout Camp, was it God’s wrath that they don’t allow homosexuals?

Is the flooding in the heartand because God doesn’t approve of their Republican voting record?

Why hasn’t God wiped out California and New York? I mean, He got Soddom, Gammorah, and New Orleans. And what about those cities in Asia where "sex tourism" is big – people go there to exploit children. Why doesn’t God wipe out THOSE places?

It just seems like God’s priorities are a bit whack. Can you explain this?
Wow… Krypton, that is seriously convoluted. So, God punishes homosexual acts by sending a tornado to get an organization that bans homosexuals?

And he sends an earthquake to get a bunch of Chinese villagers to punish Thialand?

I live in Houston Texas. I was wondering if anyone here has been through or seen a tornado here in Houston and how bad was it? I also want to know if you think it would be wise (with houstons flooding and all) to have a seller put in incase of a tornado? I came from Cali and hate the earthquakes but hey…at least you know when a tornado will possibly hit and where. with an earthquake you just don’t know. OH also, can a seller (like in "the wizard of oz" and "where the heart is") really be okay in a tornado of any catagory (like f1-f5)? Has anyone heard of anyone getting sucked out or anything. I know a scary thought but I have 2 kids and I want to be prepared. How deep and wide should a seller/shelter be? Thanks

I know i shouldn’t say this but i live in California(i know u probably won’t be able to find me or what city i’m in ’cause u don’t know my last name or anything so i’m not trying to be stupid by saying this, it’s just that CA’s weather is kinda well known i guess lol) and in almost all the city’s right really close to mine are all getting tornado warnings and i find this really weird since i’ve never heard of any tornados where i live and i can’t imagine it, just earthquakes. i don’t know if the town/city where i live will get a warning, but all the places that are getting warnings are really close to where i live and i was wondering how to prepare. do i like board the windows of my house with plywood? i don’t have a basement, and i was also wondering where’s the safest place to be. i have a small house, but we have a fireplace, and i’m wondering if that’s a safe place lol. or is the doorframe the safe place, like in an earthquake? anyway, please don’t be a stalker and try to find out where i live because u won’t be able to and that would be creepy…so yeah tell me what u think. : ]

Of all natural disasters that could possibly occur, which would you be most frightened to be in the heart of, and why?

Would knowing that you’re in the heart of a 9.0 earthquake terrify you? Would being with 5 miles of a major errupting volcano horrify you? How about living on the ocean side during an enormous tsunami? Witnessing an F5 Tornado in the middle of a city? Living near a major mountain during an avalanche? How about living in the heart of a flood, and as you go out your door, the water from the flood rushes inside your house?

Sometimes when I wake up I see a figure, shadow standing in my room. Other times I carry over what was in my dream into reality. It’s not just a vague image. It’s something very solid and very real to my eyes. When I will myself to remember it’s not there it disappears. I have written light in midair, been tormented by dark figures, seen whisps of light, and even been literally touched by an unseen force. I know this sounds like a drug trip, but I promise no such things ever involved. I’ve always had a theory what I have is a sleeping or mental disorder. I have been experiencing things like this since I was a child but never knew who to talk to about it. I have woken up in my sleep shaking because I thought there was an earthquake and many, many more odd things. What could this be? On top of all this I will often act out my dreams, such as climbing up the wall as if it were a mountain, spinning my hands in midair as if manipulating small tornadoes, and sometimes falling unconscious after waking up because I’ve become so frightened or knocked out by a very visible body of energy. I don’t think I’m haunted, crazy, or possessed. None of those make sense. This isn’t urgent because I’m used to all this. I have experiences like this, sometimes completely away in the middle of the day, about several times a month. It would be nice to have an explanation though.

What are things every dog owner should keep around for pet emergencies?

What about basic first aid?!

I’m wondering in case if there’s a tornado, fire, earthquake, etc. and a vet isn’t an immediate option. AS much info as possible please, from our doggy section regulars, not people on here this morning that don’t know what they are talking about!

I was just wondering, since he has said that Hurricane Katrina and yesterday’s earthquake were God’s punishments for the sins of New Orleans and Haiti. Does he think that Kansas deserves to be hit by tornadoes time and again, or does he just cherry pick natural disasters to blame on the victims?

Also, which one do you like best?

1. Three women are about to be executed. One’’s a brunette, one’’s a redhead, and one’’s a blonde. The guard brings the brunette forward and the executioner asks if she has any last requests. She says no, and the executioner shouts, "Ready! Aim!"

The next man came up and started his story. "St. Peter, I always work out on my balcony on the 14th floor of my apartment building. I was on my bike one day and I fell off when it flipped. I sailed over the rail and I thought "Please God spare my life" and he did. I caught on to a balcony below me. I was even happier when a man discovered me hanging there. But all of a sudden he started beating my hands with a hammer so I fell again. But the dear Lord saved me again when I landed in a bush. But I’m here now because the guy threw his refrigerator on top of me."
It was now the third guy’s turn to start his story. "Well, Peter, just picture this. I’m hiding butt naked in this married chick’s refrigerator….."

3. One day a lawyer was riding in his limousine when he saw a guy eating grass He told the driver to stop. He got out and asked him, "Why are you eating grass".
The man replied, "I’m so poor, I can”t afford a thing to eat."
So the layer said, "Poor guy, come back to my house."

CNN broke news that 120 Boyscouts and Supervisors took brunt of a f-2/f-3 tornado which caused at least 4-casualties and dozens of traumatic injuries tonight.

The camp had some buildings, and the scouts were camping out in tents, in the rural setting.

Should the buildings that were destroyed by the tornados have been better built for tornados?

Yes, I know how much a tornado-proof camp-sized building/cabin costs, about 50,000-85,000 dollars, a little less than what the buildings at the Boyscout Camp that were destoyed cost to build.

As for timing, you are WAY OFF BASE!! There is no better timing to show what a new building frame reinforcing system improves against!!

Those fatalaties are not necessary, and you should be advocating for safer buildings, so that you don’t have to suffer along with the Scouts and their Families!!

Hold your thoughts about non-tornado resilient houses, structures, and commercial buildings!

A new method of building/structure frame reinforcing is about to start receiving third-party accreditations, and have already proven out above hurricane force-winds capable, and most tornado/earthquake-resilient, also!!

I agree that even these systems will have damages from winds and seismic forces, but that is still a whole lot better than having fatalities added to the storms/quakes.

This new method of reinforcing adds flexure, elasticity, and tension-resistance to the rigid-assembled compression-resistant frames, giving the building/structure all of the required structural elements to be able to survive over 120mph winds, and be resilient upward to nearly 200mph winds. These systems are called Structural Strap-Nets, and lets the Builders go to stronger lightweight dual-frames, which also cost a little less to construct than current buildings/structures.

I think it may have been on in 06 or 07 on like CBS or ABC or NBC. But what I can remember is, there were a bunch of different catatrophes going on. Like there were tornados in Chicago, and this kid is on a couch and he goes to find a friend and they end up in a mall. And then a tornado picks up this guys car spins it around and then sets it back down.
Now i think this is from the same show, but it’s like the tip of california get seperated by an earthquake and water filled in its place so now it’s an island. Where this docter is on the ground with a guy.

Any clues?

If you had to evacuate your home due to a natural disaster (hurricane, tornado, flood, earthquake, etc), or a man-made disaster (chemical spill, fire, gas leak, terrorist attack, etc), what would you do with your pets? Most emergency shelters make NO provisions for pets! You can’t bring a large dog, or multiple dogs just anywhere. You’d have to find another safe place for them. Many dogs were totally abandoned during Hurricane Katrina. Would your pets get abandoned if you was forced to evacuate your home?

Do you have a plan to evacuate your home, with your family and your dogs in an emergency? Do you know somebody (in another area) who could temporarily house your dogs during a disaster? Would you be willing to offer temporary housing to a friend’s dogs, or a family member’s dogs? What arrangements have you made? What would you do?

At the very least, I hope that a question like this would provoke some serious thought. Once distaster strikes, it’s too late.
Another question … Do you have an emergency kit (food, water, supplies, medications, etc) for your dog(s)? If you and your pets had to leave your home in an emergency, you’d need one. What’s in your kit?

I live in California and I would love to move. It is very expensive here. A 2 bedroom rental is about 00 while an average 3 bedroom home costs about 0,000. I have looked at many places and been to many different states, but now I am looking for some other opinions of places worth looking into. If you think you know of a good area please tell me where it is so I can research it myself to see if it is a good place for me. I am looking for:
-a place that has all four seasons
-reasonable cost for housing, both rental and buying (reasonable would be somewhere that less than 50% of your income goes towards housing)
-decent job market (retail drug stores, hospitals, clinics and such where I can work as a pharmacy technician)
-nice scenery (not flat land-somewhere with mountains or rolling hills)
-friendly people
-a major airport within a 2 hour drive
-no tornados or hurricanes (at least with an earthquake your house remains in the same location and it is over in 30 seconds)

Justin looked out his window into the world. His face pressed against the window, mouth open, eyelids wide open staring. The sun had been shining right into his black eyes. The world looked so beutiful out there. Only if he was human. He would’ve died to be a normal human being like everyone else. He then looked around his surroundings. Someone sweeped by him so fastly. Someone broke out a sobbing cry. I could tell who it was. Piper. I then opened my eyes, staring at her presence.
”Piper? W-what’s wrong?”
”I know there is something wrong but I can’t do anything about it..I’m sorry.”
”Oh….”
She then gathered her hands together and kept sobbing. She got up from the ground and left the room. She went upstairs. Even though Piper was normal; She always knew something was up and Justin always made up some excuse. He then started trembling. He started having a panic attack.
”P-P-Piper!” He whispered to himself. But he knew she wouldn’t be able to hear him screaming out in pain. He then fell down into the carpet blood dripping from his brain. It felt like the world was just about to shake. Like almost cracks in the ground were gonna start to crumble. Almost like an earthquake. It was so intense. The blood dripping from his head still a bit dizzy. His eyelids had already been shutten. Then they flickered up a little bit. He could only see pictures of something. He couldn’t quite figure out what it was though. It was a tornado. People running frantically scared that they could’ve died. In which they were gonna die soon. Maybe even sooner. He then saw Piper there in the middle of the street with her mouth open and eyes in horror. Then Dawn, Justins’ friend , running by her looking at her like ”What are you doing? Just staring? Huh? Are you crazy?” Piper stood there thinking ” This can’t be happening? Is this real?” Then Justins’ visons started to get blurry. He then got up from the carpet. The blood had stopped draining from his head. Finally the panic attack was over. He left the room and upstairs. He walked into his room. He sat down on his bed. His bed sheets were stars and the background blue. He had a blue pillow on his bed. The pillows’ picture was stars, moons , and the earth. He had another pillow on his bed too. It was brown. One of those pillows you have when you have neck problems. He usually always had neck problems. He had a bunk bed. He then looked up into the ceiling worried. Sure he wasn’t human. Sure he was ‘immortal’ as the humans called people like him. But they didn’t know he wasn’t human. He just had to fake it. The only reasons’ he was worried because how was he gonna stop this tornado? It’s not like he had powers to stop it. He was only half human and half vampire. He went to sleep. He honestly didn’t know what to do.
