Being a storm chaser has always called my attention… it would be great also to know a storm chaser’s opinion.

So I had a dream that I can’t figure out-happened several weeks ago but its still haunting me: so I see one of those tornadoes you see in super mario bros 3 sweeping across one world to another (have no idea why I saw this- havent played video games since I was a teen) anyways, I then feel as if I’m inside this tornado and its moving me across a great distance without throwing me down, then suddenly I see myself being pulled forcefully through mid-air in the clouds by a kite that I’m holding the string to, but when I look up at the kite above, I find the string is actually attached to a dark grotesque dragon slightly covered in foggy clouds with huge claws pulling me forward high in the air for a couple minutes; suddenly I find myself near ground level in an open park-like area of a city with brick-streets and its around noon-afternoon and sunny, and the dragon seems to vanish but kind of turns into an invisible kite and pulls me forward strongly one last time and then disappears into thin air and I land on the brick street there..
nice answer, yeah I can kind of relate to that sometimes I have trouble letting go of past things..
another cool answer, heard about dragon analogies and losing the temper..
ok I meant that I’ve heard of tornado analogies to temper before..

Hi, I’m Rebecca..
I have reoccurring nightmares about the end of the world. They’re very vivid and frightening. I get them very frequently to be honest, and it scares the living hell out of me. I’ll share a few for examples.
In my dream once, it was thunder storming, very bad. My grandma is very catholic, I turned to her and I asked if she thought the world was going to end, she said no, so I felt at ease. I went downstairs and I relaxed. All of a sudden, the sky turned black, I, again asked her if she thought the world will end, she then said yes. The sky turned to blood red, and my whole family, dropped dead except for my siblings and I. I ran outside trying to find someone I know, everyone was running to churches, screaming, crying, they were shooting guns, people were bleeding to death, & I had no idea where I was..I didn’t know anyone, then I woke up.

Another dream was where, again the sky was red. This time was more calm. There was fire all around & tornadoes. Trains and planes were both crashing. Volcanoes were erupting, ash everywhere. Houses destroyed. There was an asteroid heading torwards Earth. These people thought they could launch something at it and destroy it, instead, it turned right around and destroyed Earth, I then woke up.

The last one I’ll share with you, is the most recent one. It wasn’t necessarily the end of the world, but the end of life. I was on the phone, blue skies, nothing big going on. I looked outside, and there was a tornado like figure. It honestly looked like a waterfall, there were no clouds. People were taking pictures, standing an arms lenghth away from it. I went outside to catch a glance when the wind barely sucked me up, I fell and had to hold on too the wood from the deck to survive. I then went downstairs and watched the tornado from above. From the window, I saw all my animals dead..floating in the water, I then wokeup.

These dreams are really getting to me, and I hate waking up to them, someone please help..

40mph is said to be F0 grade on the Fujita scale, but dust devils are said to reach speeds in excess of 60 mph. They’re said to never be counted as tornadoes(Twister, Fury on the Plains video) Tornadoes are said to have thunderstorm connections, but something I found online said a lot of twisters have formed w/ no sign of lightning, so what’s the difference b/n that & a fair weather type thermal? Tornadoes also don’t always have visible connections to parent clouds. What would you call a tornado that did meet all the profile characteristics, but only packed 35mph winds?

I’ve dreampt of tornadoes (3 or more) several times before. I can always see them forming along the hills and valleys and they never come close but they’re always out there. The latest dream had a cloudless day and one cloud spun around forming a blanket of clouds and tornadoes popped up. It never storms or rains. And when we go to shelter, I’m always the oldest child there.

So what do these symbols (I guess that’s what they can be called?) mean?

I wish I could remember more details… but here I account what I remember:

I was sitting outside with some friends and the skies were getting darker and the air windier. Living in a region that is prone to tornadic weather (in my real life) we were just watching the clouds form in a common-day/matter-of-fact disposition. When I realized a hook was starting to form.

We all had to take off running and while I can’t remember who all my friends were in the dream… I do recall that our running was a stampede of a lot of people—strangers even—all booking it to find shelter. Along the way some people were stopping in shacks (we were in a wooded and mountainous area… as if we had been camping)—but I encouraged my friends to keep running and not stop with the rest of the flock to seek shelter in these places they were choosing.

We stopped at the rock formation that looked like a natural stairwell and crouched below/behind it. We could hear the tornado gaining speed. I don’t remember much else, I think I woke up soon after.

But if I remember correctly the tornado surpassed us and we just felt a lot of wind from behind our shelter.

Any interpretation is welcomed!

I’ve seen this video countless times, but its still freaky. At 3:32, do you see the "skull" in the clouds around the tornado?

This may be a loaded question but I am tired of people I ask not giving me a concrete answer.

I live just outside Philadelphia ad anyone in this region knows we got slammed by a series of strong storms today, some of them causing rotation in the clouds, others spawning funnel clouds, and others having an out right tornado reported.

Having talked to someone in Lancaster Pa, she told me she was under a Tornado Watch, when my area, being an hour an a half away was not under a Tornado Watch.

I find that flat land areas are more prone to Tornadoes than where I live, now I am wondering why. I was always under the assumption that if you live in a forest-type land mass, that does play a part for being at risk for Tornadoes.

So my question is: Just why is Lancaster Pa. at more of risk than Philadelphia Pa went it comes to Tornadoes?

No links, please….

So back in 98 or so I was out with my cousin in my backyard we were looking out towards the mountains. He quickly looked at me and said "look I think that was a tornado!" I looked over to the top of the mountain and this really dark thin shape which really looked like a funnel shot back up into the clouds so fast I barely saw it. So I kept watching and about 5 seconds later this "funnel" shaped thing dropped down even faster and shot back up just as fast as it came down. The sky was very dark on the mountain and the "funnel" was pitch black as it shot down. There was no wind though we could have been about 10 miles from where it touched down.

I thought it could have been a micro burst or something as well since Arizona doesn’t get tornadoes.(We can’t say tornado or the insurance won’t cover anything) Yet I didn’t think micro bursts are visible and the "funnel" looked very much like a tornado. Just the thin, black object hitting the top of the mountain makes me think that is what it is. Before then I had never seen one so that is the closest to a tornado that I have ever seen in real life.

sorry if there is alot of mistakes its late and I’m tired. This has been on my mind alot recently and was hoping someone could tell me if this occurence was a tornado. We do get funnels at least twice each summer so that is another reason I don’t think it is that unusual for it to be a funnel.

Hello,

I want to know what is a supercell ?

I read in Wikipedia but I did not understand :(

is it a huge cloud ? or is it a motion of the clouds and the winds like a tornado and a hurricane ?

or it is just a tornado ?

and if you can give me pictures of it if possible

Thank you.
Of course it is not the Japanese 11-member musical group ! it is related to the weather !

i dreamed that i was in escalante utah and i heard that a large amounts of tornadoes were coming. so when i peaked out the room window i saw quite a bit of them in the next town over in an order of left and right. as soon as i got down into shelter in my great grandmas house it all ended and it was just a cloudy day. as soon as i got back out and looked around it all started up again but for a blif few seconds and then the tornadoes turned into some colume and the clouds became a roof. it was rather beutifull.

I hope no atheists take offense because I am just really curious and enjoy learning about people of different cultures. I remember a few years back the kids and I were alone in our trailer when the tornado sirens started to wail. Just then on the radio the weatherman said there was a twister headed our way and would hit us in less than five minutes. So to make a long story short we jumped in the pickup and headed for the trailer park’s community shelter. A group of us were huddled there in a panic, praying and crying. I remember somebody’s kid saying "if we all die at least we’ll go to Heaven together." Thanks be to God the tornado returned to the clouds before harming anyone or any property!

My question is how would an atheist face a similar situation? Since they wouldn’t pray, what would they do instead?

.HANNA EXITING THE REGION BUT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT LOW LEVEL
SHEARING TO PRODUCE POSSIBLE TORNADOES…

AT 619 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF ROTATING SHOWERS SPINNING AROUND THE CENTER OF TROPICAL
STORM HANNA. AT 5 PM…THE CENTER OF HANNA WAS LOCATED OVER
SOUTHWEST SUSSEX COUNTY DELAWARE. NORTH OF HANNA…THE SHOWERS WERE
ROTATING COUNTERCLOCKWISE AND THE INTERACTION WITH THE LAND IS
CAUSING SIGNIFICANT LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE AND SHEAR TO PRODUCE
ROTATING SHOWERS THAT COULD PRODUCE SHORT LIVED VORTEX CENTERS OR
FUNNEL CLOUDS.

THESE ARE SHORT LIVED EVENTS AND IN SOME CASES VERY DIFFICULT TO
LOCATE ON RADAR. IF YOU SEE ANY SUSPICIOUS CLOUDS TAKE SHELTER
IMMEDIATELY.

I read it, and don’t get what they want us to do. Prepare for a tornado?

right now theres a storm outside bigger than any storm ive ever seen.

and now theres a tornado warning for my area… im so scared because ive never, ever seen really bad weather in my life ,and my dog is crying because of the thunder…

how do you calm yourself down when theres scary weather? considering i have really bad panic attacks and had just calm down until i woke up to my dog crying… :(

i know a sound like a little kid, but jeez im a southern california resident all my life, the worst ive seen was small earthquakes.. nothing like this rain, and never had a TORNADO warning so close to me! and the tree outside my window is looking pretty scary… :|
its not just a little rain, my street is flooded and im stuck at the house… :/

sorry, i sound stupid but ive literally never ever been in weather this bad.. i just need some reassurance.
we dont have a basement… :X or a room without windows… :X

where is the next safest place to go? cause we got an automated call from the city telling us to be careful and theres one of those clouds a few cities away…

whats safer… a bathtub, or a shower with a door? me and my mom need to know what to do if we have to hide… or would hiding under my bed work best? but i dont think we’d both fit down there… i dunno, they never gave us tornado drill practice when i was in elementary school or whatever, because we’ve never had to worry about it..!

Back in mid-April, my brother and I were driving on a highway in Texas through bad weather. I noticed the clouds above us were rotating and just then the wind picked up and some trees next to us fell over and a transformer blew. We barely managed to escape the forming tornado and were naturally shaken up a bit by the incident.

Ever since then, he and I have regularly dreamed about tornadoes: being chased by them and trying to find shelter.

I was wondering if we could be traumatized or maybe the incident is still fresh in our subconscious? I mean, we laughed about it right after it happened and we aren’t the type to freak out easily, so why the recurring dreams?

I’m a fanatic of supercell thunderstorms and tornadoes, it’s like an thing that i am hooked onto. I’ve started having the hobbies of watching tornadoes back when i first got my 1st computer when i was 12 years old, we had dial up back then but i used to watch storm chaser’s tornado videos like all day. I’m 19 years old right and i have a laptop and i keep a bunch of photos and videos that i shot of thunderstorms when it rolled through my town and i would upload it to youtube for sharing, i have dsl now. But would any wife would let their husband have this kind of hobby ? Sometimes during a severe thunderstorm warning or tornado watch i would go outside and snap photos of the clouds before it rained. I don’t know if any wives ever accept this kind of hobby. Would an hobby of something like this will ever get into a way of a relationship ? I consider myself as one of these guys who dedicate their lives photographing storms.

The common responce for atheist of why they feel God doesnt exist is because hes not visible.
answer: hes not visiable because thats the test God gives us. We need to have faith, trust, hope, and belief God is up there. Reason why we cant see him is becasue if He were to be visible, the test would be so easy that it wouldnt be a test. Then everyone easily goes to heaven and God wouldnt know who is true believers are and God would wonder if he were invisible, who would have faith that hes up there and worship him? What i mean is, people usually do forbidden things aka sinful things when there isnt "someone" there to witness it. However, God is putting us to the test. Secondly, I cant see your brain, so does that mean you dont have one. I cant see people’s souls so how do i really know its there?etc.
Who created the skies, the clouds, the ocean..if you dont believe it was God the creator, then i ask you can you create dirt for me and skies, clouds, water. no..didnt think so
My final question is why are you people allowing scientists crap to brain wash. Something but evolution..To prove evolution is a poor theory, who created monkey. can a scientist creat monkies, can a scientist creat dirt. Just becasue they can clone, people forgot who create the scientist. your answer would be the scientist’s mother right.well who created the mom and so furth..It was God.
Last but not least, the reason why we have tornadoes, deaths and sickness occuring..YES God has the power to solve and be the casue of this however, the sick people who becomes sick and thank God gets a better life in the herafter. We need these destruction and damages going around the world becasuse its a reminder how powerful God’s powers our, lets us knows whos God. And with a perfect life, no one will thank God. There will be no deaths in the world. So no one will be afraid of what they do, there will be no consequences. Where do you perfer to have a miserable life, in this world that gives us 80 years tops or the after life in heaven eternally. See heaven is a priceless place. The richest person in the world cant pay for heaven. Its the good deeds that you do that’ll get you to heaven. It annoyes me when someone is going through so little, ex(breakups, getting fired, loosing money, car, house,) and blaming their problems all on God. They still play the blame game. Ive been around the poorest people, with absoultely no family members, no friends, no money, no phone, no house, no insurance, no nothing, and i asked her if she felt like she has bad luck or something. she said no but all i can do is thank God i have eyes to see, ears to hear, and im able to move, and also a healthy body. She is so grateful and thankful for God. We should stop looking at all the negative things occuring and thank and look at all the postive we have. We should always look at the class under us not on top of us. And a reminder to everyone, this is not HEAVEN. So why do you expect the world to be perfect. The only perfect place to live a REAL life is in heaven, so we have to do good in the world in order to fill our obligations. Please. Please, for the people who are unable to say something nice, please dont comment this. Im not forcing anyone to read this.
This is what i truely believe if you have any polite questions i will more than happy to answer them and please stay on topic. Thanks for your time.

I took my nephew to the park and we had a lovely time taking pictures. It was beautiful outside today. These pictures were taken at around 7:00 pm but just 12 hours earlier we were under a tornado warning and had some damage to our town, It was the complete opposite weather with clouds, rain, wind, and hail. Anyway I thought I would share that little bit of info. So what do you think of the portraits I would love any feedback. Thank You!

I took these with my brothers camera it was a canon and 7.2 mega pixels I can’t remember the exact module. My camera I normally use is a fujifilm finepix S2000HD so all of my other pics are taken with that one.
