Natural Disasters…?
What is the most destructive, isolated, force? I’m looking for a natrual disaster that on average is the most distructive and is not world-ending (like Deep Impact). Like Mount Saint Helens, a land slide, hurricane, tornado, etc. Something people could live through that’s not a supervolcano or that would probably end the world (like a giant astroid). It can change the world’s climate (like that volcano in the Philipines that lowered world tempuratures 2 degrees for a while) and doesn’t have to be measured in "human costs" (ie money, human life, etc). In general, what would you not want to be around at all (even with shelter, etc.)?
Please no dooms day theories…

In the short term probably a hurricane or tornado (even a tsunami) in the long term an ice age

My first thought was a really explosive volcano – could change the climate. But also up there on the list would be melting of the polar ice caps. Rising water levels could cover a lot of low-lying ground.

Im going to say a hurricane, they can get as wide as hundreds of miles. They are more destructive than people think they are.
