My county has never been hit by a tornado in 30 years, would that change soon ?
I just watched night of the twisters and it made me rethink that just because i live in a county that doesn’t have tornadoes often, doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. Just like in the movie Night Of The Twisters, the people of blainsworth, nebraska always thought that Denanbrock would always get hit by a tornado, just like here in Northeast Columbia, South Carolina we always think that Lexington, South Carolina would always get hit by a tornado. Would there be a chance of a tornado hitting our county ?? I’m 19 years old and since I was born to today there has been no tornado that has hit our area, but we do have tornado watches a lot but no tornado warnings.

really it is very possible. you live in a part of the country that has the correct weather systems in place to allow a tornado to develop. i live in southern maryland and we had an enormous tornado tear through our area about 7 years ago. it isn’t very likely but it is certainly possible. just make sure that you have a plan in place for the possibility. better safe than sorry.

It’s possible.
Best to be prepared ahead of time.

There is pretty much always a possibility anywhere in the world. The wind and wind/air temperatures have to right. I live in Cleveland, Ohio, and there are always tornadoes within 10′s of miles of the outer edge of the city limits. I remember on the news of one touching down in the county of Elyria about a week ago. Now where that tornado touched down, it was only about 30-40 miles away from the city. But usually, tornadoes don’t really touch down near large bodies of water. Those place would be like where you live in Charleston, or where I live in Cleveland. But if one does, it would be called a waterspout.
But overall, there is always a chance of a tornado touching down anywhere, but some places are luckier than others.
I hope I could help!!
