im really really scared of this weather?
right now theres a storm outside bigger than any storm ive ever seen.
and now theres a tornado warning for my area… im so scared because ive never, ever seen really bad weather in my life ,and my dog is crying because of the thunder…
how do you calm yourself down when theres scary weather? considering i have really bad panic attacks and had just calm down until i woke up to my dog crying…
i know a sound like a little kid, but jeez im a southern california resident all my life, the worst ive seen was small earthquakes.. nothing like this rain, and never had a TORNADO warning so close to me! and the tree outside my window is looking pretty scary… ![]()
its not just a little rain, my street is flooded and im stuck at the house… :/
sorry, i sound stupid but ive literally never ever been in weather this bad.. i just need some reassurance.
we dont have a basement… :X or a room without windows… :X
where is the next safest place to go? cause we got an automated call from the city telling us to be careful and theres one of those clouds a few cities away…
whats safer… a bathtub, or a shower with a door? me and my mom need to know what to do if we have to hide… or would hiding under my bed work best? but i dont think we’d both fit down there… i dunno, they never gave us tornado drill practice when i was in elementary school or whatever, because we’ve never had to worry about it..!

What do you want us to do pray for you?

Its a little rain, calm down. Go take a bath or something to calm your nerves if its really bothering you. Yeah its kind of loud…and wet…everywhere haha but, really, its no big deal. Cali used to have weather like this in 2004 or so.

Get off the computer is one great suggestion.

Calm down:]
We get tornado warnings all the time in the spring where I live.
*Most of the time nothing sever happens anyways though.
Since there’s a warning, you should get into a basement, or windowless room if you don’t have a basement, or the most central room in the house, and bring your doggy with you.
I’ve never been in an actual tornado, they’ve always ended up going around my house or dying out. But apparently it sounds like a train headed straight toward the house! Like super super loud.
So just get into one of the safe spots in your home and keep listening to tv updates until it goes away from being a warning. Thunderstorms aren’t that big of a deal, so you have *no* worry for them. The worst that happens is the winds could cause damage or turn the electricity off for a little bit.

A few months ago we had a really bad storm. I thought the tree was going to fall on top of the house. Scared the crap outta me.

Hide under your sheets. Always works aha
Also if your scared of lightning remember it always strikes the highest point, so the chances are you’ll never get hit.
Dunno what to do about a tornado. There was one near me once, but our area didnt get hit. You’re supposed to get under a desk or table or bed if you see it coming towards you i think

There’s a tornado warning? I live in Southern California too, but the storm isn’t that bad right now where I’m at. I heard it might get worse. =S
But anyway, when there’s scary whether I usually get cozy and watch T.V. or a movie to take my mind off the scariness. I might even close the blinds so I can’t see outside.

I’ve been through some tornados. Just do what they say: Basement!
I’ve been through many hurricanes…it’s no big deal..
Just stay safe is a you can do.
It’s just mother nature being a b!tch..

I live in Colorado, Ive never seen a tornado before even though there are tornado warnings like once a year pueblo and el paso county, but I get what you mean.
I know there arent any basements in California(There shouldnt be, if you have one, somethings wrong with those builders) so I would say to stay close to your dog and your family.
It’ll be allright, just turn on some music huddle with a blanket on the couch or go in the bathroom in the bathtub.
Im sure it will just pass by and its nothing severe, its not something that happens all the time so it wont be something to be afraid of.
