I'm having issues with a 1979 Schwinn Tornado rear coaster brake hub.?
The hub is believed to be original to the bike. The coaster arm is stamped Schwinn approved and the hub body is stamped Germany. The hub has an oil port in the middle of the hub. An oil port, not a grease cert just to be clear. This is the older style internals with the screw type instead of the two ball bearings. This is my first hub to tear down, so my info on type is from the local bike shop.
The problem was that the coaster brake worked, but would not stop the bike very well. The local bike shop recommended I disassemble the hub, clean out the old grease, and reassemble it with PARK bike lube. I’m mechanically inclined so off I went. Now the coaster brake works great, but the hub is noisy only when peddling. Just coasting is quiet and braking is quiet. I dismantled the hub a few times and tried adjusting the tension on the internals. I’ve gone from so tight nothing works, to so loose the axle has up and down movement. With no change in the noise. I haven’t been able to find an exploded view of the hub or tech info for adjusting/trouble shooting. All help is appreciated.

I believe these hubs were mostly produced by Fichtel and Sachs in Germany at that time, now part of SRAM.
This may help a little

These people are also an invaluable source of information and this may help too.

Best of luck, I use Sturmey Archer hub brakes, a revelation after years of cantilevers and V brakes.
