Tornado Questions
I run a daycare, so I am here with 7 kids all day. Where can I go in my home to keep these kids safe if we do have a tornado here. We do not have a storm shelter, and live on a very flat area, with no big ditches or anything. Please help!!
Can we go in the bathroom to be safer?

If you can call the parents have them pick up the kids. send them all home and get your self to someones home with a shelter. FEMA will be there in 5 months after.

You need to get out of there now. Take blankets for the kids to cover with and instruct them to lie flat to the ground. After this storm you need to have a tornado emergency plan as well as fire plan and earthquake plan and threat of violence plan. Anything can happen and if you need to plan ahead to keep these kids safe.

Get all the kids out and head out of that region immediately. Head somewhere safe, a friends basement etc.
Better be safe than sorry, good luck

I'd never take my kids to your daycare.

If you live in a mobile home, get out of there and seek the nearest safest shelter you can find, preferably underground if you can. Mobile Homes are swept away even is a mild tornado.

WHAT!!!
You are a child care provider for 7 children and you don't have an emergency weather evacuation plan in place??? YIKES!!!! The parents must be scared to death that you have their kids in a mobile home……..
If the storm is still approaching and you have time…call the parents and tell them to pick up their kids..OR the locals Schools are open right now and serving breakfast….They have SAFETY places in the school for this type of emergency weather…..
Get in your car and out of that mobile home as fast as you can and go down to the school, local hospital, church or community center…………..
This is a lesson learned for you today…..
Most important TODAY you find and locate the safe places in your community to take the children you care for during bad weather….
Make sure you notify and contact all the parents and let them know your escape plan and where you would go in an emergency so after a bad storm or tornado passes they would be able to find you and their precious children…..
These parents don't need to go your mobile home and find there is NOTHING there and that their kids are gone as is your mobile home and the whole mobile home park…..They need to be assured that you have their precious children safe over at the school, hospital or basement of a church……
Good Luck

You need to get out of your home! All catergories of tornadoes can damage mobile homes. The safest thing to do is to atleast find a ditch or something, or try to find a building with NO windows if possible.
