I am really scared because there is a warning in Schenectady that there will be a tornado! How long are they?

Please tell me how long Tornadoes are! I’m not scared of storms but i am scared of tornadoes…i never had a tornado before so this is FREAKING me out!

First of all, calm down. There are some strong storms coming your way (actually looks like they’re over Schenectady right now), but it doesn’t look as though there’s going to be any tornado activity. Just keep an eye out, watch your local news or check online if possible. If you see or hear anything that really worries you, get into your basement if you have one. If you don’t, get into the innermost part of your house away from any windows. You should definitely be cautious, but most tornado watches and warnings are only precautionary and a tornado doesn’t develop all that often.
As a matter of fact, we have a tornado watch issued from the same storm system right now (Northeast Pennsylvania).

it depends some times 5 minutes some time 2 hours just hide some were with no windows like the bacement or a closet
