Fujita Scale?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking for hours and I just can’t find a couple of things my teacher requires in my report on the Fujita scale.
Those things are the:
Duration, location, "etc". (It really says etc)
Duration? How long it lasts? I thought the scale was only based on DAMAGE.
Location – couldn’t it be basically anywhere? I’m confused.
ETC – ??? What else can I tell?
To wrap it up:
1. What is the duration of F0-F5 Tornadoes.
2. Where is the location of F0-F5 Tornadoes
3. What does she probably mean by ETC? Also any help on what you think she means would be appreciated.
Person who answered:
My teacher never said anything about using the "enhanced" version. I don’t know which one to use because it was never specified.

Perhaps this will give you some help.
Below is a copy and paste. The link is in the source box.
"After the Jarrell, TX tornado of 27 May 1997, some engineers disputed its F5 rating, proposing that its relatively slow movement meant that the duration of the tornadic windspeeds contributed to the complete destruction of homes in a Jarrell subdivision."
EDIT:
I think the enhanced Fujita added duration as a factor. I would use that one and tell your teacher that you wanted to use the most current information you could. Do a good job and, surely, your teacher will accept it.
I also forgot to tell you that maybe she means Tornado Alley as location but that is just a guess on my part.
