Do you think this site should be called 'Global Climate Change'?
That’s what’s really happening. It’s the INSTABILITY of the weather that is the hallmark of climate change. Look at the storms that have hit the US this winter. A tornado in Washington state, a serious drought in the S.E.,US, wild swings in temps ,floods and fires in California. It’s the ever widening parameters of the weather records that can reveal the extent of climate change, caused by AGW. We call everthing in Science that is a known fact,a THEORY! We don’t have a site called "Gravity",or "Relativity",where any idiot can post their ‘beliefs’ about those subjects. We need to get serious about the deadly problem of AGW!

linlyons,
weonly have one tiny little planet, why screw it up for the protection of profits for just a few?
matt,
it’s the extemes of daily weather that have increased. If each year, the high temp is broken, how hot will get before you ‘believe’ that it’s really too hot? If each year here in the N.W.,we get stronger record breaking storms . How much stronger do these storms have to get? We had a TORNADO this winter. What’s next?

we can help but things have gotten out of control for us.

<<We don’t have a site called "Gravity",or "Relativity",where any idiot can post their ‘beliefs’>>
very true.
however, there are no large corporations whose profits are totally dependent on the change, or lack thereof, that the government may impose on factors that affect gravity or relativity.

No I think that "Global Warming" is an adequate name. People who get confused by the name just need to learn that “Global Warming†is a global phenomenon. What’s happening outside one person’s kitchen window or what’s occurring in the lower 48 contiguous Untied States is interesting, but they just need to keep an eye on the big picture: the globe.
“Global Warming†also refers to the average global temperature anomaly, which has increased by about 0.6*C over the past 40 or so years.
Note to Dr. Jello on definitions: “Natural Law†is a philosophical term used in describing human nature.
A scientific law attempts to describe an observation in nature (objects dropped on Earth accelerate at a rate of 9.8m/sec.) while a scientific theory attempts to explain it (this acceleration is the result of an attraction between objects that have mass).
Note to mat_ll: It was Republican strategists who first marketed the term “climate change.[1][2]†They thought that “climate change†sounded less threatening than “global warmingâ€. A more accurate term would be “global climate instabilityâ€; but, if people understood the fact that climate instability is a consequence of increasing average global temperatures, then there would be no reason why we should change the name.

It’s only called global warming in the US site. Go the Yahoo Australia and it’s called climate change.
Instability? I’m glad we aren’t going through the dust bowl days again. That would bring the zealots out of the woodwork.
Gravity is a natural law. It’s objective science. Global warming is a guess, and subjective science. Big difference.
Global warming will be as unforgotten about as the "killer bees" in a few years. Nothing has to be done. Man isn’t killing the planet.

whatever you think about the science you have to admire the marketing of calling it climate change and not global warming!
This way any weather event, or even a cooling event can be linked to man regardless of any facts!

Global warming is happening. A common misunderstanding, especially in the United States, is that global warming is just the world heating up. The true definition of global warming is that weather is changing all over the world. The weather changing isn’t the problem for humanity. It’s us not being prepared for it. I agree "Global Warming" should be called "Global Climate Change".
With retreating glaciers, strange droughts in certain areas, and snow falling in southern California more often, there is no doubt about it. However, the scientific community doesn’t know what the CAUSE of it is. Any scientist who claims they know is looking at one thing instead of the whole picture. We don’t know if it’s from a natural Earth and sun cycle or if it’s from our deliberate pollutants of carbon in the atmosphere.

If it came out of Bush’s mouth they would believe it.

yes because gobal climate change is already happening its happening fast
the ice caps are melting faster than the normal rate
