Do tornadoes usually form with lots of lightning?

Once there was a massive lightning attack above our neighborhood. It was terribly windy right before, knocking down some trees. It was just odd since we live in a hilly area.

The amount of lightning and the formation of tornadoes have nothing to do with each other. A storm with a high activity of lightning means that there is a lot of electric buildup in the clouds and a huge polarity difference.
