Could I be traumatized–I dream about tornadoes nearly every night?
Back in mid-April, my brother and I were driving on a highway in Texas through bad weather. I noticed the clouds above us were rotating and just then the wind picked up and some trees next to us fell over and a transformer blew. We barely managed to escape the forming tornado and were naturally shaken up a bit by the incident.
Ever since then, he and I have regularly dreamed about tornadoes: being chased by them and trying to find shelter.
I was wondering if we could be traumatized or maybe the incident is still fresh in our subconscious? I mean, we laughed about it right after it happened and we aren’t the type to freak out easily, so why the recurring dreams?

Being in the middle of a forming tornado qualifies as a traumatic event in my book.
I agree this event is still fresh in your minds and these dreams will diminish with time.

I too live in texas and when I was younger I used to dream about them I think it is just fresh in your Subconscious.

Well, sometimes there’s a certain part of your brain that it can’t get a thought or memory out of it. It’s not something you can really control.
