I live in NY state, and I saw on the Weather Channel that the hurricane may bring tornadoes to NY, NJ, DE, and surrounding states. How does that happen? How could the tornado produce tornadoes for this area and do you think it’s likely it’ll happen?
And I meant to write, "How could the hurricane produce tornadoes?"

Just hearing about Irene brought back memories of Ivan in 2004 D:
I remember….I was on the couch watching tv…and my dad was checking outside on how it was looking…I was little,and a bit scared…but now since I’m an amateure storm chaser,i feel a little scared,yet excited at the same time….If any of you were in the path of Ivan,you oughtta know what i’m talking about…but anyway,It was a tropical storm when it tore through good ol’ North Carolina here,I had to sleep in the living room when it happened,it was so scary! the power went out,the sky was red D: the thunder was deafening,the lightning was bright,the rain was so loud,and the wind was so strong it bent the forest behind my house so back that you could see the interstate so clearly behind that! as soon as it passed,the power was out for 2 freaking days! the next day after it had come and gone,we went outside to see the damage…we had down power lines,mulitple car wrecks on the interstate,fallen trees,shackles from the roof scattered all over the yard,and a peace of a roof from a house I didn’t even know!!! At least our neighbores were kind enough to share their generator but dear God,I will never forget that monster of a storm,I still remember every second of that night and probably will for the rest of my life…we got hit by many other tropical storms after that,but that was the worst one! (not to mention a reported tornado in my area >.>…) whoever was in the path of Ivan,feel free to share your story !

I live in Decatur Alabama, and I didn’t go to school that day becuase my mom knew the weather might be bad. But luckily, we didn’t get hit, but we came very close to it. So, does anyone have any stories about your amazing survivals? If it’s to hard to even type, you don’t have to. can’t they colonize Mars?

You know the ones. They stand out in the street reporting risking life and limb while the winds are howling, and the rain is gushing down on their TV issued rain slickers/umbrellas. While their pants legs are whipping around, they stand there holding onto their slicker hoods/umbrellas for dear life, while cars are just missing hitting them. It’s like they live for hurricanes/tornadoes, tsunamis etc. All of them want to do a more crazier stunt act than the next TV station for higher ratings.

Whom I thought was a friend of mine from art-school, came here to my house from Philadelphia – insisting without my consent – to come here to Wisconsin to photograph my work.
My work was never photographed however – not only that, but 3 times before her arrival, I had very plainly asked her not to make the trip…for my head is preoccupied with many issues I need to resolve ALONE.
She however would not respond to this, except by repeatedly stating, that she was coming! (Period!)

Upon her arrival, she took it on to herself to impose upon me the way she feels entitled to do things. I objected every single time, yet, she’d go against my wishes, that she’d mind her own business or leave. I must add, that when I first said "NO, don’t come now" to her insistence – the very next day she sent me by e-mail confirmation as when her plane would be arriving. Again, and for another 2 times following that, she’d refuse to listen, telling me she was coming anyway!!!
While here she interrupted my life as I run it. But not only that – for 4 days after being here, I asked her please to go, or else! She was petulant about what I was demanding of her…however displaying her anger at first by crossing her arms across her chest, or turning on another vacuum cleaning (very long session) – became another thing altogether!
When she was finally gone, for I was totally out of patience and tolerance, I knew of myself, and my very bad temper, if pushed too far, that "euphemistically" I’d have blood on my hands. And I did not want to arrive at that point.

While here, as I am discovering now, many of my things have disappeared, as well as thrown into the rubbish. I can not believe that even the key I gave her as so to have her own comings and goings when needed, she told me before leaving she had lost my key.

An ex-friend of mine, however left a copy of the key I’d given her, and left it in my mail box. I found it, the next day, before the mail had even arrived…in an open, very easy to access (BY ANY ONE!) envelope.

2 more details which may help as clues to what? A condition I am not familiar with? With this, I am asking for your help.
* she would not take a shower unless I’d come up to my master bedroom, and sit there for the while she was in the bathroom. She had been afraid from the time she was 5, to be in a bathroom, with no one outside of it, nearby. She was afraid of spirits, she told me.
* I had filled the freezer with food just for her…this food she would not eat…instead she wanted to go out 3 times a day to sup. I am not a restaurant-type person, but a home-body type of being.
Again, at this difference of opinion, she’d become petulant, and at first I’d give in just to have her shut up!

Finally the 4th day came, and after beginning to asses what losses I’d suffered thanks to her, little princess behaviour, I told her simply : Get The F….! out! – this she did not do right away, until she recognized what happens when someone, in my own house behaves like a tornado committing a house invasion.

Now, what would you think is this woman’s problems. Much loss was accountable to her stubbourn behaviour; losses monetary, and far as objects were concerned, which she, without asking permission, she SIMPLY threw away!!!

Any help to try help me understand what happened here, when she took completely over, I would appreciate. Since I myself never had run into such an absurd, intrusive, invasive a situation before in my life.

I am still looking for all which seems missing. Having found some of these things ready to be cast into the trash…well, here I am, from not comprehending, dealing with my head, STILL spinning from utter disbelief!

Well, Alion-unfortunately-I knew this woman in graduate school-& I trusted we knew each other well-I also had an opportunity to meet, but never knew too well her husband-But from the way he’d sometimes make hooded remarks about her behaviour-we’d all defend her – she seemed so healthy-far as sanity would go.He died not very long ago-but just before-he’d returned to his high school sweetheart.I asked Miss entitled little princess if his death/leaving her & either or both had been due to her "take over behaviour" to which she became so angry she rushed at me.However-I made no move…when she reached me-I warned her that from the 2 in the room-only 1 would walk away with her head still attached to her neck. This week alone I’ve severed old ties with 5 people.Know what?I don’t feel lonely-I feel I should’ve done the "ridding of bad garbage" MUCH SOONER in my life!Thanks a lot.I thought at 1st, that I was the crazy one!!!Live&Learn!

After the F5 tornado struck Joplin, MO on May 22, my husband, one year old daughter, and myself (then 9mths pregnant) found ourselves searching the market for a new home. By then end of June, we had found the perfect home. Our loan officer assured us that maintaining a loan would not be an issue. After 6 long weeks and much misinformation on what we needed to do in order to get our scores where they needed to be, he finally asked us for a check to cover credit reports he ran and referred us to someone who might be able to help. It turns out he could not get our creditors to erase the house and 2 vehicles lost in the tornado from our credit reports and advised us not to pay our debts completely. Shame on us for allowing him 6wks to provide this poor information. When we contacted our bank of choice to try and apply for the loan, we were notified in 2 days that we were approved upon the conditions that all debts were paid in full – getting our creditors to cooperate by removing our previous home and car loans wasn’t even an issue. Our next step was the home inspection. It revealed a few things we were uncomfortable with. Our buyer’s agent informed us that our previous loan officer caused us to miss our inspection date. From what I understand, this means that anything coming up in the report would not be the responsibility of the seller. Bummer – we really don’t want to spend the extra 00 for repairs needed. Then, less than a week later, after our closing is scheduled, we are contacted by our agent who has just found out from the seller’s agent that the current homeowner is married, trying to sell it as if she’s single. Therefore, the contract we’ve already agreed upon has to be approved by and signed by the husband. Unfortunately, this will push our closing date back yet another 4 days. Mind you, we’ve been in the contract process for nearly 60 days now. The homeowner is refusing any repairs that came up necessary in the inspection, she has failed to complete a rennovation project she had sarted and "promised" to have finished before the sale, she has managed to patch several holes in the walls (hidden by wall hangings upon our first home tour) and not bother to texture or paint the surfaces, and even removed shower heads from the bathrooms. At this point, we are so fed up with her lies, her unwillingness to follow through with any type of repairs (or monetary compensation for them), and the idea that everytime we view the home, it’s condition gets a little worse. Is there any way we can get out of this contract without penalty? PLEASE HELP! We’d still love the home, but feel as if we’re being treated so terribly by the seller that we’re willing to move on. I believe in good moral principles and treating people with respect and honesty. The seller is obviously not concerned with these standards.

I want to know if the weather is good or if they have a lot of storms etc. in the areas by the beach in texas im in the area of norman oklahoma and want to move out of the bad tornado alley area where there is big ice storms and large hail,but i want to go to a place where there is good jobs schools and not so scary weather i grew up in sacramento ca area so maybe something like that or something like norman oklahoma but not with this bad of weather!!!
