depends on where the shelter is and what type of material it is made out of. Most newer shelters will give you a very good chance of survival. The older, wooden shelters/cellars aren’t as sturdy.

It decreases your chance of being killed however, nothing is sure when you have a tornado of that magnitude. Your best chances are if this shelter is deep underground. I hope this helps (:

YES and YES
A tornado shelter is super reinforced concrete – solid walls – solid roof – all tied together
into a (yep you guessed it) solid concrete floor – and it should have a steel door on it
some newer houses have the master bedroom clothes closet as that reinforced room
and the specs costs about $5,000 extra for those enhancements – - but if they save a life
then it is worth it
all the best

There are no guarantees only likelihoods. I’ve spent most of my life in "Tornado Alley" from Lubbock, TX to Amarillo, TX, Oklahoma City area, and Wichita, KS. I’ve never heard of a properly secured and constructed tornado shelter ever failing.
For my money, I’d much rather be in a shelter than not. Humans don’t react well to objects crashing into them at 300 mph.

i have. *shrugs*
it just decreases your chances. its not 100%.
