Can someone please explain to me these 2 movies?
Ok for about a week me and my mom decided to watch best picture noms this weekend was yesterday we watched District 9 OK WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT it was really confusing I did not understand one bit of it it didn’t even feel like i was watching a movie and yet a ton of people loved it the cinematography is awful acting is bad and doesn’t have a really logical story and all it got was good reviews I watched it again today to see if I missed something and I still don’t see it.
Second: A Serious Man….. OK WTF?! IS WITH THE END I was sooooo confused I mean warning for you guys who haven’t seen it yet ——–SPOILER——– WHAT IS WITH IT he gets a call from the doctor and then it shows them looking as a tornado bears down on them and the credits roll WHAT IS WITH THIS? PLEASE EXPLAIN

A serious Man is about a cursed family. From the beginning, you see their ancestors and how the curse came about. Throughout the movie nothing positive happens to either the father or the son. The end shows that the father prolly has cancer and the tornado coming is symbolic of the curse now affecting the kid.

District 9 is an allegory to the apartheid that took place in South Africa. Basically an alien vessel enters Earth’s atmosphere, above the country of South Africa. When humans finally enter the ship, the aliens are sick and appear to be rather unintelligent. The story then turns to the protagonist, who works for a company that wants to relocate the aliens from their current slum/camp to an even smaller camp. Along the way he is infected by the alien technology, which begins to change him physically. He then works with an alien to hopefully cure himself and allow the alien to active his ship. In the end the protagonist fully changes biologically into an alien, while the one he helped escape.. leaves in the ship and his motives are unknown.
I think there is a possible sequel as the ending is open..
