Any suggestions for a good place to raise a family no extreme heat and have a white Christmas?
I am looking for a new place to live. I have young kids (10yrs, 7yrs, & 20mons), am a single mom (but don’t want the single scene), somewhere away from hurricanes and tornadoes (currently live in South Texas). I want a mountain view and lake view from my home with at acreage. Work opportunities is not necessary since I have a successful home business (ask me for info if you want one too). Summers that don’t get hotter than 85 and winters where the thick blanket of snow last for a few days or more. I have been thinking about Colorado but can’t seem to decide of a city, I like Breckenridge because you are not living at the bottom of the mountain–I don’t really want that. I prefer small towns verses big city. I love the TV idea of everyone knowing each other. Scenic views are very important to me since I will have lots of time on my hands now to explore.
Thanks for the help!

I am partial to Wyoming. I live in SW wyoming and love it. It rarely gets over 85 degrees. The winter is pretty long though, more that a few days of snow. check us out. Where I live, I am ony 80 miles to the city and international airport, 30 miles from the national forest, and within a days drive of 8 national parks. There are piles of outdoor recreation opportunities. Wyoming has no income tax and has great schools. check out http://www.evanstonwy.org Shoot me an email if you want to know more.

Take a look at Evergreen and Georgetown. Both have lakes (availability of land may be a issue) but they are smaller friendly mountains towns that are still easily accessible to Denver. Georgetown has an old-fashioned Christmas celebration that worth attending in any event.
