Watched MANY videos of hurricane chasers and sometimes i DONT seem to get why some people are outside in shorts and some are in pants. I have been outside in T.S. Ida and T.S. Fay and Ida was a COLD and MISRIBLE LATE season hurricane with temps in the low to mid 60s and Fay was WARM and MUGGY!!! Both storms however i was wearing shorts!

Its warm and humid outside but its getting cloudy. The wind is picking up rapidly and i live in Mass. I heard that a tornado touched down in New York but i don’t know what conditions were like there. Its in mid 80′s here without the breeze but every now and again the wind will pick up and die down. There is a HUGE line of storms moving in East and i was wondering is this possible weather for tornadoes to form? Thanks

I live in the Highlands of Scotland, at the moment we are due to get very stormy weather due to ex hurricane katia tomorrow night/Monday morning. I just read on a weather website that katia could also form tornadoes in the uk. I am now very worried! I am 23 and a mum so please don’t make fun of me for worrying for myself & my 4 year old, I have never experienced something like this before! Reasurance would be great. Anyone with info about katia please post thank you

Last night I dreampt that I had to get up and pick up my toddler daughter from her fathers house, about half hour drive away. My current boyfriend who I am with, was driving our car, when we started hearing reports that bad storms were on the way. We looked out our window and saw a tornado form ahead of us on the road. I looked over at my boyfriend to see if he planned on pulling over or what we were going to do, but he took his hands off the wheel of the car and I didn’t know what was going to happen. We continued to drive and I kept seeing tornados forming in the sky. Somehow we suddenly had my toddler daughter with us, and the tornados were still forming so I convinced my boyfriend to go to a bar for safety. Once inside I could see that they had a main bar area and steps down to a basement. I asked one of the bartenders if we could go downstairs for safety and she brushed past my schoulder and completely ignored me. When I told my boyfriend he didn’t even care that there were tornados coming and that the bartender ignored my request to seek safety for my daughter and I.

I remember when I was about 6 I had dream of virgin mary/ virgin de guadalupe. At the time I didn’t know much about her, I just knew she was related to god in some way. I remember the picture was being built by some old fashion machinery. I was sitting on one the floating pieces that was facing her. Once her face was built she began to speak. She said something about doing something important in a quite voice. I think I was scared at the time not knowing what’s going on. Then the dream went black and went into a nightmare, there was a tornado. It sucked in some house in the middle of no where, almost like the wizard of Oz. And I freaked because some cat got sucked in too. Then I just woke up freaking out! I was freaking out more about the cat though xD I know it sounds stupid but any advice would help thank you (:

The hurricane is supposed to pass through Connecticut on sunday but I’m not sure if I have anything to worry about or not. I’ve lived in CT my entire life so I’m not very familiar with hurricanes. Will I be safe?

I live in southwestern Ontario which was battered by severe thunderstorms, great show put on by Mother Nature! Anyways, my area was upgraded from a tornado watch to a tornado warning. We didn’t bother running down to our basement only because there wasn’t any hail falling in our area. However, we were glued to our television for local weather reports/updates and all. Anyways, I know it’s much wiser to go to the basement because a tornado warning is only issued if one is imminent and/or spotted on the ground. So were we being stupid for ignoring the warning because there was no hail? We just figured hail needs to be present before a tornado might strike. So my question is….
HAVE TORNADOES EVER FORMED WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF HAIL OR DOES HAIL HAVE TO BE PRESENT?

Okay, I have to admit I’m scared to death of this hurricane everyone’s talking about. I read bunches of articles on it and how New York City is going to be destroyed and this is like, the worst hurricane ever. I live in Southern Connecticut, in the Fairfield County. I am dying to know what the hurricane is going to do to us, and the damage, and if I have a good chance of surviving, lol. I bet I sound crazy, but I’m just really really scared!

Or is there no difference? I know that >90% of all tornadoes are F0 or F1, but Hurricane Irene is moving into my area,(southwestern CT) and a tornado watch has been issued. How powerful are these tornadoes compared with others?

I live in NY state, and I saw on the Weather Channel that the hurricane may bring tornadoes to NY, NJ, DE, and surrounding states. How does that happen? How could the tornado produce tornadoes for this area and do you think it’s likely it’ll happen?
And I meant to write, "How could the hurricane produce tornadoes?"
