(INFO) A preposition is a word that relates its object to some other word in the sentence. The object of a preposition is the noun or pronoun following the preoposition.
I strolled ALONG the street (Along is the preposition; street is its object. ALONG relates street to strolled.
(INSTRUCTIONS) Underline the preopositions in the sentences.
1. Above her head sat the Cheshire cat.
2. The train roared through the tunnel, blasting its horn.
3. Everything in our lives had been fine before the tornado.
4. Sam brought his camera to the scene of the fire.
5. The fawn ran silently among the trees and disappeared from sight.
6. Several members of the group were late on the day of the vote.
In each sentence, underline each preposition. Then circle the object of each preposition. There may be more than one.
