That is, why are most deer hunters against these organization that are doing all they can for the environment, if they claim to be stewards of the environment. Ever been to game lands and seen lots of beer cans and shot gun shell casings lying around? Well I have! We use to have predators that took care of this but we moved into their terroity and no one wants to have cougars in their yard. However, if you are willing to encroach on a mountain lions land you should try to live with it no matter what the cost. Even if a cat killed one of my kids I would not go around shooting cats. Life is about chance! It’s time for humans to stop thinking that every house and yard should be a perfect place where nothing bad can ever happen cause it’s going to. I know someone who shot a bear to protect his family and later died from a bee sting. We must learn to accept these risk and bring the pedators back that controlled these populations. As far as deer being overpopulated is concerned. Perhaps it’s time to set up more parks and put more limits on the places that people can move into and give the deer more space
to roam! People shouldn’t be scared of bears anyway unless they have already hurt or killed someone, then I say put it down, but at least give it the benefit of the doubt. A bear that has tasted a human will go for more and that goes the same for most predators! Still we shouldn’t go around just shooting them to keep them of of our property. Sometimes cows will be eaten but comes with the territory when you live where wild game are present. It’s not the animals faught! Remember animals have been facing evolutionary battles long before humans walked the Earth. Deer have faced many hardships, more or less predators, ice ages, running out of and having access to plenty of resources, and now facing human enchroachment. The environment has also fluctuated during this time as well. Think about it for a second. The deer were able to survive all of this without the assistence of hunters or tax dollars. Hunters do donate to state parks and help out in this way but I think that they are missing the bigger picture for the environment as a whole. As best as we can and even in the face of the controversial situations that would arise, we should attempt to stabalize the populations of all predators. It is not their fault we are on there land. There are less than 10,000 tigers in the wild and most of the people that live near them want them protected even though they have killed their family members. There are many armless surfers who return to the exact spots that there arms have gotten bitten off cause they accept the chances. Many people in India live beside diseased rats due to religous beliefs. Americans should start giving the animals more room as well! As far as deer starving is concerned, the bible says that people should leave the edges of their crops for the people passing by. If you;re not a christian I am sorry I made that statement but I respect all religions! Just let the deer have some of your crop and consider that part of the price of living with nature. Grow more crops or let your self go a little hungrier. I doubt they will eat you out of house and home. I have hit 3 deer while driving, but then again their are drunk drivers, hail storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, cancers, and all kinds of other dangers that I must face everday. So I do understand what it’s like to be helpless on the side of the road cause of a deer. The war in Iraq was pretty bogus, at least most people now agree, but now 1/3 of Iraqi children are dead and have not ever heard this shouted out in the streets. Most of the people in Bush’s admistration were hunters and most hunters supported bush and yet no one even seemed to mention these children were dead! All of this was supposedly for our nations protection. If we are willing do go through such drama and send billions and billions of dollars into a bottomless pit and send our children in harms way to fight a country that didn’t have a thing to do with 911, it’s looks like we should be able to tolerate a few predators. Remember Few predators want to attack a human. However, they do! The ones that have attacked should be either tranquilized and taking away or just simply shot on sight! With this I agree. But I urge people to give wildlife a chance. If you come across a black bear and act unafraid, stand your ground, and try to scare it then it will most likely run away? Let’s just call hunting what it is which is a hobby. Of course there are those who only eat what they hunt and so hunting is survival and I support this! I love deer meat myself. It is very good stuff and I love it with lemon, onions, and beer, oh yeah! Where as hunting may put a small dent into actually helping the environment, I don’t think it is the answer to the bigger issues. Sometimes people get irritated with me and I feel like Charles Darwin and no one is takin me serious

That is, have any of these monsters survived as hurricanes and continued on westwards after crossing land? I suppose while over land, they would probably be downgraded to a tropical storm, but has any of them become a hurricane again on the other side?

When I was a kid I think I remember my mom telling me something about that rain and tornadoes couldn’t happen at the same time. Is this (or anything like it) true? And if so, why?

does any one know what happens in the end?there is a really funny story to why i didnt see the end. my mom and i went to the parks mall in arlington, tx, and we were at the poinnt where the bad guys had gotten the gold thingie when they turned off everything, and i mean everything and announced that there was a tornado watch where we were so we needed to get to the shelter.so got out of the thearter on the 2nd flore and went to the 1st flore and all the way around the mall. when we got tothe shelter they said that it was full. so ironically enough thay told us to go back to the amc arfind a safe place in sears. so here i am freakin out so my mom and i went to the blanket section but they were held up by bid sheets of glass.so my mom thought, the bathroom! we went to find the bathroom witch was of coarse next to the POWER TOOLS!!and we waited and waited. we called my g-pa and g-ma and they said that there was a tornado heading our way accross lake arlington so we went to the bathroom
and waited for them to call of the warnind though they locked us in for another hour. longstory short i leave you with one tip and one guestion. never go to a movie on a humid and rainy day with tornado warning and expect not to get trapped. and what happens on the end

I recently read on here that the BBC reported that tornadoes are not as rare in the UK as people think. Understandable. I then read that the BBC reported that there are more tornadoes in the UK than in the USA, they just don’t get reported. That can’t be right. Last time I checked, the USA has over 50% of the entire world’s tornadoes. Could someone please explain (1) if that report actually happened and (2) what their source was?
Just to clear up…I understand that the USA is most favorable for tornadoes…I’m studying meteorology. I just wanted to clear up if the report happened and why it was so horribly wrong.

Thanks to those who have answered so far though, appreciate it!

I’ve seen a lot of people say that this disaster or that is the result of our sins. Katrina happened because of sin, etc. So I’m trying to sort this out:

When the tornado hit the Boy Scout Camp, was it God’s wrath that they don’t allow homosexuals?

Is the flooding in the heartand because God doesn’t approve of their Republican voting record?

Why hasn’t God wiped out California and New York? I mean, He got Soddom, Gammorah, and New Orleans. And what about those cities in Asia where "sex tourism" is big – people go there to exploit children. Why doesn’t God wipe out THOSE places?

It just seems like God’s priorities are a bit whack. Can you explain this?
Wow… Krypton, that is seriously convoluted. So, God punishes homosexual acts by sending a tornado to get an organization that bans homosexuals?

And he sends an earthquake to get a bunch of Chinese villagers to punish Thialand?

Ternid

In this world, there is a wonderful civilazation with the name of Ternid. It’s full of two different cities, Hilliard, and Moundsville. Our culture is not very different from others. We try to keep it simple so we don’t have too much chaos.
For our clothing, you can wear mostly whatever you want, as long as you aren’t showing too much. We have a couple of different shopping malls where you can go and buy your own clothing. There are so many different stores, such as
Our art is available to anyone who is interested. Just go to our recreation center, and you can take classes there. Otherwise if you want to make your own art, you can go to our art store, Mury’s, and buy any art suppies you need. For our music, there are several different kinds. You can listen or sing from classical to rap. We also have several radio stations that play each type of music, such as hip-hop, country, rap, and so on.
Also entertaniment is a very big part of Ternid. Like I said before, we have a recreational center that has tons of activites, such as different sports, book clubs, etc. We also have some singers and performers come to our stage, the Quest Center.
For housing, we are very original. To live here in Ternid, you have to buy your own land and build your own house, or have someone build it for you. There are no houses to buy, unless someone moves away, which is very rare.
Our food is very American. We eat cheesburgers, fries, chicken, steak, or anything else. Sometimes people like to eat foriegn foods, such as Chinese, Indian, Japanese, etc.
Our religion is mostly whatever you want to believe. If you have the money, you are welcome to buy your own land and build a church to your beliefs. If there is already a church where you believe the same ideas, you are welcome to go to it. Or you’re welcome to just not do anything at all.
Our government is very private. If you’re in the government, you can not tell anyone anything you hear untill it’s released to the public. We have a mayor for each town, and then a senator for the civilization. The six most important laws or Ternid are that you can’t kill anyone, you can’t cause chaos, you have to follow the speed limit, not stop at stop signs or go past red lights, you can’t live on the streets, you have to use your manners and be polite to everyone, and you have to own land to live in Ternid.
The climate in Ternid has four different seasons. Poris is the hottest season, Gernis is the warm season after Poris, Hedis is the coldest season, and Bergis is the warm season after Hedis. It rains in Bergis and snows in Hedis, just like any other regular climate.
There are many social structures of Ternid. One of them is similar to one of the laws, you must use your manners and be polite to everyone. The social structure is that people always come and give a platter of food to the newcomers of Ternid, so they feel welcomed. Another social structure is that whenever we think a hurricane is coming, we all come to one place, which is the saftey house. The saftey house has a huge basement full of space for people, emergency supplies, food and water.
Ternid is a very safe community where people gather to have fun is a good way.

What do you think about this. For awhile there have been rumors circulating that Rebecca Budig, a.k.a. Greenlee Smythe on "All My Children," will be leaving the show. Rebecca, who originated the role of Greenlee in 1999 and played her until 2006, returned in January of this year amidst much hoopla.

A few weeks ago news started circulating that Rebecca would be leaving the show early next year. Rebecca and ABC have not jointly confirmed, nor has Rebecca spoken out, about it. Until now.

"It’s true," Rebecca said with a little bit of sadness. "I’ll be leaving ‘All My Children.’"

When asked why, Rebecca explained, "Well, my life is in California (where she relocated after leaving "AMC" in ‘06). I had hoped it would be a lot easier than it was to live bi-coastally. But it’s really tough — our (she and husband Bob Guiney) life is enmeshed there. We put down roots there."

We’re totally bummed, but you’ve gotta respect Rebecca’s decision to leave. Seriously, can you imagine trying to juggle a bicoastal life? Like, when my pharmacy moved uptown it gave me issues, so 3,000 miles is extreme.

How much longer will she be in Pine Valley? "I’ll be on until early spring. It’s a really, really great exit. The story is amazing. Chuck has done some incredibly stuff so far [like the recent tornado]."

Whew. We have a good number of months left with Rebecca. And the nice part is you have the opportunity to see Rebecca in person at Super Soap Weekend this year. "I’m really looking forward to Super Soap. This year is going to be really special. I think it’s going to be the best yet, actually."

That’s not all. Rebecca has been just announced as one of the talent participating in the "Rock the Soap" event in March, which is part of the Soap Nation 2009 tour (think of it as a Super Soap’s successor). It’s a star-studded cruise filled with daytime stars. "That’s going to be so much fun. Fans can sing Karaoke with me. I love Karaoke. I may not be able to sing well, but it’s fun," she laughs. "Plus I like to rap. So people better be ready to get their rap on."

On the possibility of coming back to the show, Rebecca said "Never say never. I really want to get back to NYC. I told Bob, I’m a New Yorker at heart."

She added, "I’m going to miss everyone at ‘All My Children’" They are seriously the best group of people. Everyone’s there to put on a good show, you know? It’s been so great to be back. I’m really also thankful for everything Brian [Frons, President ABC Daytime] and Julie [Carruthers, "AMC's" Executive Producer] have done for me."

"The fans are the best. They totally welcome me back with open arms and I love them. All the feedback and support have been great. I just hope they continue to support me, and "AMC."

We are so appreciative of Rebecca’s honesty and her decision to leave. And really, spring is a long time away so we don’t have to think about this for awhile.

I’m trying to understand how supply and demand works but I’m overthinking it and could use some pointers.

Assume that a major hurricane wipes out over 50% of all rubber trees in Central America. How would this effect the demand, supply, equilibrium price, and equilibrium quantity (Increase, Decrease, or No Change) of Rubber.

I have never heard of these things before. They’re creatures believed to have come from the fourth dimension once one was shot on camera in the worlds worst recorded tornado. You can watch the first part here:

What do you think? are these things for real? Did you believe in them before you saw this? Did you even know what they were before you saw this? Please don’t answer if you didn’t see the videos.

Cirrocumulus – A patch or layer of cloud consisting of tiny individual cloudlets at high-level is called cirrocumulus.

Altocumulus – Altocumulus clouds consist of a thin sheet of white or gray clouds that are broken into bands, blobs, rolls or waves. Altocumulus are middle atmosphere clouds which means that they are not the highest or lowest clouds in the sky, they fit in the middle.

Cumulonimbus – Cumulonimbus clouds belong to the Clouds with Vertical Growth group. They are generally known as thunderstorm clouds. A cumulonimbus cloud can grow up to 10km high. At this height, high winds will flatten the top of the cloud out into an anvil-like shape. Cumulonimbus clouds are associated with heavy rain, hail, lightning, and tornadoes. These clouds are named because they are puffy ("cumulo") and because they often are dark clouds which cause rainstorms ("nimbus"). Cumulonimbus clouds are different because they cannot be classified as low, middle or high altitude clouds. These are often storm clouds which can be ten or more miles in height, extending through all the levels of altitude. These clouds form when a front of cool air meets a body of hot, moist air. Cumulonimbus clouds can produce rain showers, snow showers, hail, or even thunderstorms.

Altostratus – Altostratus clouds are named because they are middle height clouds ("alto") and are spread out, thin, and layered ("stratus"). Sunlight is often visible through these clouds as in this picture. Altostratus clouds form when a front of warm, moist air meets a body of cold, dry air. If these clouds thicken, then precipitation is likely. Altostratus belong to the Middle Cloud group (2000-7000m up). An altostratus cloud usually covers the whole sky and has a gray or blue-gray appearance. The sun or moon may shine through an altostratus cloud, but will appear watery or fuzzy.
An altostratus cloud usually forms ahead of storms with continuous rain or snow. Occasionally, rain will fall from an altostratus cloud. If the rain hits the ground, then the cloud becomes classified as a nimbostratus cloud.

Nimbostratus – Nimbostratus clouds belong to the Low Cloud (surface to 2000m up) group. They are dark gray with a ragged base. Nimbostratus clouds are associated with continuous rain or snow. Sometimes they cover the whole sky and you can’t see the edges of the cloud. The word Nimbostratus means "rainstorm" and "spread out" in Latin. Rain and snow often accompany the development of nimbostratus clouds. Nimbostratus clouds color the sky a solid gray. These clouds are low altitude clouds that are not more than 5,000 feet above the Earth. These clouds develop when a front of warm, moist air meets a body of cold, dry air.

Cumulus – Cumulonimbus is a type of cloud that is tall, dense, and involved in thunderstorms and other intense weather. It is a result of atmospheric instability. They are puffy white or light gray clouds that look like floating cotton balls. Cumulus clouds have sharp outlines and a flat base. Cumulus clouds generally have a base height of 1000m and a width of 1km.
Cumulus clouds can be associated with good or bad weather. Their tops look like cauliflower heads and mean that light to heavy showers can occur.
Here’s a tip on how to know if you see a cumulus cloud in the sky. Cumulus cloud cells (the individual puffs of clouds) are about the size of your fist or larger when you hold up your hand at arm’s length to look at the cloud.

Stratus – Stratus means "spread out" in Latin, and Stratus clouds are a blanket of gray clouds. These clouds are located at a low altitude of less than 5,000 feet. Stratus clouds often form when a front of warm, moist air meets a body of cold, dry air. In the picture above, the stratus clouds are following a snow shower. These clouds have warmed the air, so that the snow shower changed into flurries. Rain and drizzle can also be produced by Stratus clouds.

Fog -Fog forms when the difference between temperature and dewpoint is 5 °F (2.8 °C) or less.

Fog begins to form when water vapor (a colorless gas) condenses into tiny liquid water droplets in the air. Conversely, water vapor is formed by the evaporation of liquid water or by the sublimation of ice. Since water vapor is colorless, it is actually the small liquid water droplets that are condensed from it that make water suspended in the atmosphere visible in the form of fog or any other type of cloud.

Well my teacher had us fill out this student info sheet and when it ased for an emergancy contact # I could do nothing but say that I do not know information and that all I knew was that was on file in the office. Well apperantly this was a grade and a significant amount of points was deducted from my grade all because I didn’t know certian info.

Also she made up this story about what if "There was a tornado and the place was blowing up and you were being rollled away on a stretcher and they tried both you parents and couldn’t contact them and they came up and asked you who else is there to call?"

and NO I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!

Do you think that it was fair for points to be decucted from my grade all because I didn’t know any emergancy contact # and all I knew that it was on file in the school office if my file ever made the transfer?

One

Büchel, Western Germany
4:12 a.m.
The plan was flawless or so he thought, no it was flawless the man restated in his head. He drove up to the security checkpoint in a black Mercedes, flashed his I.D. to the officer, and then sped on to the parking lot. After getting out of the car he made his way to the southern most building. The layout was burned into the back of his mind as a result of hours scanning the blueprints of the complex. A large chalky concrete building loomed in front of him marked “Nuclear Storage Blok 7” in fading yellow paint. “Beep Beep” his watch screeched, 30 more minutes he thought grimly. Walking to the door he slid his stolen I.D into the card reader, and was accepted with a cheerful looking green light as the doors slid open. Walking in, the air condintioning was triggered and he was greeted by a gust of cold air blown at his back. The halls ahead that lead to his destination were empty and he took the moment to un holster his Glock 22 semiautomatic pistol. The safety emitted a “click” as it was flipped off. Florescent lights illuminated his way to the next set of doors. No locks this time and the man stepped through the doors unhindered and arrived in a dank circular room smelling of mold. The walls were gray concrete with orange biohazard signs adding color to the otherwise ashen room. Just one more door the man thought to himself. The room had only one door with a sleepy man dressed in a black uniform with “Sicherheit-Security” marked on it. His name was Hendrik Klien and he had worked here for eight months, lived alone, and was originally from Hamburg. He also knew that he knew that he worked the 4:00-6:30 shift and he would not missed for at least two hours. Armed with this information he walked towards the door. “I.D.” Hendrik said slurring his words. The man pulled out his I.D. as he took the I.D. to examine it the man pulled out his Glock pushed it to his head and fired twice into him. He then let the body fall to the ground and continued through the door without a single thought of remorse. The hangar was dark but the outline of the single Luftwaffe PA-200 Tornado IDS fighter-bomber was clearly visible, however he was more interested in the vault behind it. Punching in the series of 13 digit numbers that had recently been “given” to him the vault opened showing him the prize for his efforts.

I am 18 years old, and will be moving just after I graduate high school. I currently live in California. Im interested in anything east of Memphis, because I don’t want to live somewhere flat and tornado prone. I like to go out and have fun, but at the same time i want to live somewhere peaceful and laid back. I just don’t want to live somewhere full of retired people and no one my age. I am fairly conservative, so maybe I wouldn’t fit into a real liberal city. I attend a Christian church sometimes, so maybe not a real secular town. I love motorsports. I race go karts and dirt bikes, so if there is any kind of racing going on, I would love to check it out. I should be going to school, so I’m looking for somewhere with a community college or technical school near by.

I know this is a lot, but I would really appreciate some help. Thanks yall

I keep having this recurring dream where my uncle Richard and I are trapped in a thunderstorm and we decide to run to the storm shelter. Once there Richard takes off his shirt and is glistening like a beautiful Greek demigod. He then asks me if I’d like to go jackoff in a tornado, and I oblige. We end up tying our belts to a utility pole and masturbate in the middle of a furious tornado.

What could this mean?

The next day, a team of Meteorologists went to evaluate the damage. They needed to classify this storm according to the Enhanced Fujita Scale:

F0 – F1 Weak
F2 – F3 Strong
F4 – F5 Violent

This scale uses damage from the storm to estimate wind speeds. From 1950 to 1994, the population of storms was classified as follows:

Weak 74%
Strong 25%
Violent 1%

So, assume that this distribution holds for the tornadoes that we see in 2009. We have some wild weather and see an all-time high of 632 tornadoes in the month of May 2009 (exceeding the current record of 543 from May of 2003). What is the expected number of tornadoes that are not violent?

The Maj General for the Alaskan National Guard had high praise for Sarah’s leadership stating that when the Alaskan Guard was deployed to kuwait last year Sarah was calling him constantly to ask what the men needed and if she could go see them, and also made sure their families didn’t lack for anything.
Sarah also sent without presidential request a c-130 with supplies and 2 air guard choppers and 30 reserves to help Bobby jengle’s state in face of the hurricane Gustaf.
The Maj general said that she learns fast, leads great, and is hands on for all her troops and people.
Sarah Palin was in Iraq months before Obama and she did so not for the cameras because she didn’t know then she was going to be considered for VP choice, she did it for the support of HER people.

I signed a petition for her a month ago to be submitted to McCain to give her VP consideration…I’m ecstatic over her so far.
