is it can lift up about 11ton bus or it can lift up 747 plane ?
It seems to be the case. Whenever I hear about a tornado hitting somewhere, it’s zipping through corn to hit a farm house or through a field to rampage through a trailer park. But I never hear about it belligerently tearing down the road to take out the mini-mall. Why is this? Does it have something to do with open areas of land having better factors for tornado production? Or is there something about a city that keeps tornadoes away? It’s something I’m pretty interested about.
Why aren’t our political leaders speaking out about this potential problem !
A blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could cause a hurricane Katrina in every major U.S. city and yet our so called political leaders aren’t talking about this potentially deadly problem.
I want to study tornadoes. What are some good universities that have this besides Oklahoma State? And also what degrees should I get
I live in Stamford,tx..Jones Co.
In the video, the main singer is dressed up like Dorothy, and she has a puppy and a lollipop, and the background has a field with the band in one part, and another part has the sepia look with the tornado in the back. I know its a Japanese pop band, but Idk which one….
Lat April- Early May me and a couple buddies are going tornado chasing throughout Tornado Alley. I’m looking for a good storm chasing site where I can get forecasted weather reports, radar, maybe something that reads rotation in the atmosphere. And please don’t say weatherchannel.com. Other than knowing a good website that can give weather information and maybe some good storm chasing tips, we’re pretty set with gear and everything. Thanks. I greatly appreciate any help. If you want to give me any other information or anything, feel free to.
Is this an awesome picture?
It is the Little Sioux tornado that killed 4 scouts.

I’m in Houston
..I’m really hoping that Ike is the same as Gustav…
Emergency Supplies:
Bottled Water
Some band-aids
canned peaches
the grocery store nearby is EMPTY…the only stuff left is the perishable stuff and really unhealthy crap that I refuse to eat…it’s also kind of sad that they ran out of beer before they ran out of water and ice…
There is like 6 gas stations in my town, and they were all out of gas until like 30 min ago….
ugh..I’m freaking out ![]()
I live in earthquake country in California and near the San Andreas fault
and as a result i have been through a lot of earthquakes even a few floods growing up. My question is why do people who live in Earthquake country or hurricane or tornado alley especially like florida & the gulf coast always act supervised when their hit by a natural which ever disaster fits the area? I mean if you live in Hurricane alley you have to expect and accept that there is a chance a hurricane will affect you in some way potentially greatly. Most have to have insurance be it flood or earthquake or hurricane. I just don’t get why people always seem or act supervised that a hurricane put a tree through their house or flooding on the coasts after a hurricane may have done damage to your house that the hurricane the hurricane had skipped. What’s the saying if you play with fire you’re bound to get burned? I accept that one day there will be a big earthquake bigger then the 7.3 in 1987 or any in LA and I accept that there might be a miracle flooding because of faulty levees or global warming or whatever. I don’t mean to sound cold but if you live below sea level surrounded by water you’re going to flood sooner or later yet we bury our heads until it happens & then are shocked. I just don’t get it….Slamming your hand in a car door is funny but hurts which is why I try not to do it it just boggles my mind how shocked & suprised people are about things they know ahead time are possible. Same goes with investing be it the stock market or houses its a risk any time anywhere & whatever reason you do it & yes the potential gains are often good but there’s still some risk & people accept it invest or buy and then the economy or housing market tanks or the company goes bankrupt or has a health scare & boom the investment backfired. There’s risk. I ….beyond me ….why do we over look things burying our heads in the sand & why are we suprised when it happens?
I live in South Florida, and I know that the hurricane has been predicted to go west of florida, but we all know that hurricanes can make drastic turns. What do you think will happen?
I can’t imagine anything stupider than taking shelter in a closes during a violent tornado, I know that’s what they say to do if you don’t have a basement but still a basement is underground and the tornado has very little chance of hurting me while a closet is right in the open. A twister will destroy the house and then either rip the door off and suck you out or send a telephone pole crashing through the wall knocking your head off so your pretty much screwed if you hide in it. Of all places why the closet? Is it safer outside during a tornado or in the closet?
ds, california fires, recent midwest tornadoes/storms, all the lives ending in a usless war, Katrina, Gas prices just keep doubling each season, Ice sheets keep melting and causing the water to rise, and the list goes on and on and on…
Do you think the world will really end in 2012? I think it will if all this stuff continues.
An f5 tornado with winds over 300 mph? Keep in mind the Abrams weighs 69 tons. However it has a alot of flat sides that would be taking the wind head on…..would the tank be pushed around at all?
My opinion is that the twister would push it a little bit (f4 tornado +) but couldnt lift it high enough to cause real damage.
Also, I would imagine debris wouldn’t be a problem at all because of the armor
good thought
but the train cars provide a much larger and boxier profile for the wind than an abrams tank.
oh damn ill have to use my tank for other purposes
interesting nick, I suppose that if tanks were airtight they might explode in this situation but I dont think they are. Plus, I dont think the drop in pressure would be enough to "explode" a hardened vehicle like a tank. A ford escort, sure, but not an Abrams lol
As if some kind of radiated pulse or modifier is aimed at water supply near storm to increase the storm development in a certain area.
I have noticed this and have copied several instances to my hard drive. Whenever I have seen these patterns – these storms became major disasters.
Could our Government have some kind of Weather Modification satellite in space? You know, some kind of microwave pulse or beam directed at nearby water supplies to warm up the water and creat more moisture/power in the storm.
I saw this during hurricane Katrina – A major glitch flashing right across the Infrared weather screen right befor ethe storm intensified.
And it is only visible on the Infrared screen
Just throwing this out there.

You seem to think you know me. I don’t show my questions or answer so you are either watching what I do or you have nothing to do all day and look at every post on every board.
The World is not what it appears to be from an average citizens point of view.
The fact that I connect on all these issues is nothing more than a way to help people wake up.

I recently moved to Curtice, Ohio, located in Ottawa County and I see these tornado siren horns everywhere, does this place get a lot of tornadoes or is it rare and the sirens are for a precaution?
I was driving to my away soccer game in Newmarket tonight and I had a feeling it would be cancelled… On the highway, I saw the funnel cloud in the sky and I’ve never seen anything like it before. It scared me to death, but I got some good pictures of it too. It was raining so hard we had to pull over shortly before. The sky went this evil scary green colour and it just got so calm and we kept on driving…and then there it was. Wow, never in my life!!!
My husband is watching Comcast On Demand and there are several tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings we are getting every 10 minutes or so. He thinks he should be able to choose whether or not he wants to see the Emergency Alert System warnings. I’m trying to explain to him that it’s for our own safety, but he keeps complaining about it. "I didn’t ask for EAS on demand!" is what he keeps saying.
He says he got the On Demand so he wouldn’t have to rent the DVD.
LOL@Cola, he is so damn happy someone knows where he’s coming from!

When the primary season began Tim Russert was as responsible as anyone to give Obama a huge boost and now at 58 gone. Sen. Kennedy endorses Obama, stroke. Iowa, the first state to vote went to Obama, flooded as well as Montana, Missouri, Kansas, flooding and tornadoes, Illinois and Wisconsin, all states that went to Obama or at least a draw. Pelosi, a strong advocate for Obama is now being investigated for her role in the mortgage debacle! I have never believed in coincidences and with the number of events cannot help but feel the wrath of God is being felt in so many different parts of our country for electing an individual who comes from a church teaching hatred for his fellow man!
Bob, God does not hate his own creation!
Sen Larry Craig His wife is exacting revenge!
Gore"s already been punished by being exiled!
Jolie I am not speaking for the Lord, this is just a question!
Hobbit Lass Read some bible stories and you too would at least question the similarities!
It was just a question people. I have no hot line to the Lord, just was wondering something out loud. Of course I would never wish harm on anyone but when so much is happening I always fall back to cause and action. Sorry if anyone thought I meant more than that but it was just a question and a thought to ponder!
1. Are there tonadoes in Tornado Alley everyday?
2. How long do they usually last?
3. How big can they get?
4. Could you get me any footage?
Thanks a lot. =]
I live in an area that is very prone to tornadoes. We’ve been getting hit especially hard this year. My best friend of 15 years lost her parents and her 3 year old daughter to an F3 tornado that hit their house about 3 weeks ago. I’ve always had the mentality that it couldn’t happen to me or anyone I know, but I’ve most definitely changed my views now. A week after that happened we had tornado warnings again and a funnel cloud was spotted right above my house, no one was home at the time, thank GOD! So now I’m seriously looking into getting a good shelter. Anyone know of any companies in Arkansas or surrounding states that manufacture shelters? I just found out that FEMA will pay a percentage of the cost if you don’t have a shelter and you live in an area that gets hit frequently. Money is not really a problem, this is a top priority right now so I’ll find a way to scrape it together. Any info on types of shelters, manufacturers, installation, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t want to build one, I wouldn’t have near the knowledge to do that. I want to buy one. I just want to know what the best kind to get would be. And if anyone knows of a reputable place that sells them…..
